Plastic barrel at 21st South Down Fest. This version at 6.5%. It pours clear pale gold with no head. The aroma is earthy, barnyard, funky, juicy, tangy, apple skin, light acidity, gooseberry and white grape. The taste is crisp, dry, woody, tannin, bright, apple skin, tartness, white grape, gooseberry, touch of acidity, earth and black tea with a very drying finish. Medium body and drying mouth - feel. Perhaps a touch too dry, but enjoyable nonetheless.

A mess to find it in here but it was nice and sweet, not sure if it was this since there was no more explanation on th tankard. Had it at GBBF 2008.

A Mes rate: barrel at GBBF.
Bright yellow gold and amazingly clean for a real cider. Smoky and earthy with some slight iodine and band aid. A little raw alcohol but the lovely earthy and very wooden finish really sorts it out. Good stuff indeed.

@GBBF2008 (I’ve marked down as JB Medium Dry Cider, 5.5% in my notes). Yellow colour, no head. Aroma is apples. earth, vanilla, some sap and mild earthy notes. Flavour is mainly mild apples and a lot of earthy notes.
