COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cooter Brown was a family man who lived on the mason-dixon line during the civil war. He decided to stay inebriated for the entire war so that he would not need to pick a side. We salute his peaceful manner by naming our brew in his honor.

Jekyll Brewing’s Cooter Brown is an American Brown Ale that is smoother than silk. As you bring our Cooter Brown to your lips, you will smell deep roasty caramel notes as our creamy head embraces your stache. Once you taste Cooter Brown, you will experience a deep chocolate maltiness and an American hop bitterness balanced to perfection. 14.3° SRM 31.

Nosehas a light harshastringent nature. Sweet with a harsh bitterness and off grain at the same time. Taste has definite American ale yeast no creaminess. Harsh and bitter but overall is nice and balanced. Lasting head ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown pour. Aroma is nice chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor is sweet chocolate malt and a good roasty finish. Medium body with good carbonation. Earthy bitter finish. Impressive brown

12 oz. bb 10/30/2016. Nearly opaque mahogany with a disc of lasting bubbles. Nose is milk chocolate, dark bread, dates and a hint of char. Tastes of lightly sour milk chocolate followed by drying touches of graham cracker, piquant green herb and light citrus. Long finish develops a bit of dark fruit and char that almost hints at smoke. Near-medium bodied with a smooth, medium carbonation and a very sessionable balance for the sweet-slanted style.

Bottle sampled while on Jekyll Island for M&D wedding. Pours a deep brown body with thick khaki head. Nose is chocolate malt. Mouthfeel is medium with earthy roast, coffee, bark and bitter cocoa.

I love the name of this beer "Cooter Brown". Has a smooth finish but is lacking a little in the body.

ordybill (1815) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - MAR 4, 2016
Poured from the tap into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear dark brown with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malt. The taste is surprisingly full of hops that go well with the malt.

Suttree (6466) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 28, 2015
Cola-ish brown, not much head. Smell like molasses and brown sugar. Taste is kind of sweet at first, then more molasses and brown sugar and caramel. There is a bit of a woody hop bite in the finish.

Appearance: silky dark brown pour with caramel edges and a creamy light tan head that persists forever, leaving firm lacing; even poured into a crappy hotel styrofoam cup, this was a pretty beer. Aroma: smells pretty, with nice dark chocolate, some brown sugar, rolled oats, lightly burnt toast, and a bit of a cigar note. Taste: slightly sweet and roasty, with some chocolate and brown bread, a little burnt brown sugar, lightly toasted nuts, and a little vanilla. Finish: there’s a dry, slightly piney hop note on the back end to complement the roasty feel; finishes smooth and clean. Notes: Really nice brown ale. Perfect palate: smooth and creamy but not heavy. Nice carbonation. Good find. Bottle to go from a random pizza joint in downtown Brunswick, Georgia.
