1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle 0.5l from Belgrade. Dark yellow color with nice foam.
It has bitter taste, than some sweet and warm alcohol aroma.
The head is ok, the body golden-brown. It smells a bit malty, bitter-alcoholic. The taste is soft, malty a bit flat in the end. Medium. 11/7/7/5/12/6 Rune (13372) - Tromsø, NORWAY - AUG 28, 2012
330ml bottle outside at The Irish Pub in central Belgrade. Firm white head covering a clear golden body. Fragile lacing to the glass. Pale malty smell. Lemon and sweet malts in flavour. Notes of alcohol. Slightly metallic palate. Soft in the mouth. Some refreshments on a very hot summer’s day in (Belgrade, 04.08.2012). Finn (7916) - Tromsø, NORWAY - AUG 26, 2012
Gave fra Rune. Drukket hjemme 25 Aug 12. Vasken fikk brorparten. Lys gylden. Hvitt, raskt dalende skum som fester seg så vidt til glasset. Beskjeden aroma. Litt gress. Fløyelsmyk munnfølelse. Søt smak av malt - men alkoholen lurer under. En kan ane litt syrlighet i ettersmaken men det er og blir et kjedelig øl. heavy (2890) - Split, CROATIA - AUG 18, 2012
05/08 0.5 l can, brought by a friend from Belgrade, thanks Milos! It poured clear golden body with smaller head. Weak lemony and alcoholic aroma. No hops, lemon comes from some acidic thing, corn maybe. Strong glue and chestnut flavor, ugly at first, but it improves just a bit towards the finish, which was long, a bit sour and only a bit alcoholic. Medium bodied brew. Drinkable and I guess useful to youth that are seeking best alcohol to price ratio. Far from good or enjoyable though.

Canned 500ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Marko (thanks!). Golden coloured, small white head, light alcoholic nose. The taste is moderate malty, light alcoholic and slight acidic with also some mild alcoholic finish. Drinkable and to be honest expected worse brew. trevor211 (1681) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 18, 2012
Thanks to Matt for bringing this one back from Serbia, and for forcing me to rate it after I sucked it through a boob luge during my bachelor party. All that jostling meant that it was nothing but a milky foam by the time I tasted any, and boy was that a titillating experience. From what I could tell with my mouth still glued to an ice nipple, it was something like a strong, slightly dilute American amber, though it was difficult to keep abreast of the flavor profile through all the commotion. If I ever get the chance to try it again without sticking my mouth on an ice rack, I’ll give it an honest re-rate. Marko (5930) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - JUN 11, 2012
Can, courtesy of luttonm, thanks Matt! Shared with Ogi. Extremely fizzy! Golden body. Lasting small thick white head. Lemony fresh dusty light nose. Taste... Eh, as expected. Alcohol, malt, regular hoppy bitterness... Not offensive but it smells so much better than it tastes. Light bitter-citric acid notes in the finish. Some egginess. Not offensive, just a regular ESL. Not in a good way. kusadak_evropa (1) - - MAY 23, 2012 does not count
Ohh mama, for sure this is at the moment one of best serbian beers (now is may 23. 2012).The first time i taste it in can and it was wasting of money, but then i buyed in 0.5l glass bottle and was awesome, its sweet beer and strong, not alike classical Jelen beer.I have tastes all Jelen beers and many others from my homecountry, and this is first beer which i think that tourist from abroad should drink when come to Serbia. as (180) - Belgrade / Hamburg, - APR 28, 2012
0,33 l bottle. A new Jelen beer, cleverly released at a time point when there are no other domestic strong lagers available. Dark golden coloured beer, dominant malt aromas in the foreground, some traces of hoppy (herbal, grass) aromas in the background. Regrettably, the high alcohol level isn’t well hidden, so upon first sip you get "attacked" by the beer’s sharp alcoholic taste, although as you proceed drinking it, it slowly fades away. Of course, as expected, there’s a metallic aftertaste. Nothing interesting here, and in my opinion, a worse beer than Lav 7 used to be, at lest when it first came out.
