From tap at Brewbaker. Pours almost clear and dark brown with a deep golden orange glare and a small, dense tan head. Caramelish, light liqourice. Chocolate. Dark roasted malt, chocolate and liqourice. Bitter and roasted malty. Lingering liqourice and roasted malty finish.
The wife and I stayed here overnight on 9th May 2017 and I obviously had all five of their beers that were on tap that evening: this being the last of the five. Dark pour, with a ruby tinge to the body, a beige head sat on top. Malty and hearty brew, again with the brauhaus sweetness coming through loud and clear. bartlebier (4216) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - JAN 6, 2017
Draught at source, inter festas 2016. - An original Schwarbier/Bock crossover of sorts almost makes up for the lack of real Thuringian Schwarzbier in this more than decent Gasthausbrauerei. - Pours a mahogani-red dotted thicker black, cherry cola with beigish crema. Not overly aromatic, but with apparent roast, fresh pumpernickel and coffee grounds over simple dunkler bock barley sugars. Works really well in taste, a thick caramel filter coffee with the sessionable clairity of a light bock, even if it sacrifices Schwarzbier dryness and a herbal hop kick for bready caramelised barley. (swing top bottle) Almost clear, mahogany colour with a firm, mid-sized and tanned foamy head. Slightly leafy and roasted malty aroma with notes of dried fruits/raisins and a whiff of molasses. Sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium bodied at best with a moderate carbonation. Dark malty, slightly earthy and leafy taste with traces of molasses, residual sugars, as well as a whiff of dried fruits; sweet and discreetly bitter finish. Nice and straight “Schwarzbier”-Bock. 27.VI.16 pivnizub (10907) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAY 30, 2016
Bügelverschlußflaše: Deep ruby coloured, clear, medium-sized stable and lacy off-white head; moderate to solid sweetish-bitter toasty-caramelly and fruity nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; lingering fruity and grassy-herbal finish. Nice surprise! An easy-drinking and well balanced DDR-Bock… saxo (19583) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 29, 2015
