Not terrible, but not great either; however I have a feeling it varies a lot from place to place so I may revise this on a re-tasting. tombyars (1702) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 1, 2012
First tasted this in Coanes, Johnstone in June 1993. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear amber in colour with a thin white head. Slight aroma of toffee short in intensity. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a robust digestive biscuit note to the base with sweet toffee and barley sugar present. Dusty hop prickle present in the resiny aftertaste. Finish is slightly malty with sweet golden syrup notes present. An ok session bitter.
