500ml bottle from B&M. Colour is dark amber with foamy beige head. Not much aroma slight malt, and fruit. Taste has malt and a bitter finish.

Clear amber beer with a thick frothy head. Aroma is light malt. Flavour is malt, a touch of caramel and light bitter hop. It’s nothing special but it’s decent enough.

Beese (2733) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 30, 2014
Bottle from Tesco. Poured a clear copper colour, with a large white head. Aroma was cream soda, force carbonation standard, the beer couldn’t really get through. Taste was typical pasteurised English bitter; some toffee, hay and flat malts. Finish was metallic and rather unpleasant.

Really nice chocolate malt aroma. Nice deep brown colour. The taste is a bit thin, hops quite peppery but there’s no real body. The palate is too fizzy to be blunt. Bet it’s a nice beer on cask though.

Mulldog (13) - Rochdale, Lancashire, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2014
£1 bottle from B&M’s. Rarely ever get two of anything but I’d enjoyed this on tap whilst in The Lakes so I got two bottles. A very tasty beer for a 3.5%, with a rich malt flavour. Nice frothy head to start with which wasn’t lost. Best £1 (well £2) I spent this week.

At a modest 3.5% this bitter punches well above it’s weight in the taste arena, with a rich malt flavour and lasting nuttiness. That, together with it’s easy-going drinkabilty makes it more than the sum of parts. In summary, try it.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, Karamell, fruchtig. Geschmack trocken fruchtig, malzig, Karamell.
