Rating from bottle collection/historic notes. Bottle from a local supermarket. Poured dark ruby brown with an average sized off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, treacle, and dark fruits. Medium plus sweetness and mellow roasted bitterness. Full bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation.

Flavours of roasted malt, caramel, coffee, some spices. Pours dark ruby with big white creamy head. Full-bodied, pleasant warming taste, hoppy at the beginning, earthy, bitter, sweetish. Delightful old ale for cold November evenings. Enjoyed it.

Served in a snifter. Pours very dark ruby-copper with a thick head, leaving a nice amount of lacing in the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, some spice, caramel, toffee and some nutty notes. Taste is similar to the nose, rich with roasted malts, toffee, caramel and spice. Very balanced with full body. Gorgeous!
