50 cL bottle. Pours clear and amber golden with a lacing off-white head. Dry breadish and mild spiced aroma. Flavour is breadish and smooth roasted caramel malty with a light bitterness into a mild acidic roasted malty finish. Nice one.

A dark brown beer with a beutiful light brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted bread, fruit, and caramel. The flavor is lovely sweet caramel with lightly burnt notes as well as roasted malt and nuts before a light hoppy bitter end catches up. A very nice beer.

Bottled (once again thanks to the craziest bartender in the world!). Rubyish amber colour with mediumsized slightly off-white creamy head. Aroma is caramel malts along with some grassy and wooden notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with some raisins/plum. A bit sweeter than I’m used to having ESB’s, but also very drinkable.

Dark ale. Toffeeish malt followed by a dry finish with just a hint of hop. Slightly hard work.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very dark brown with a reddish hue and a tall and lacing head. Dark, malty notes. Markedly bitter with a discreet underlying sweetness. Has the sort of "ashy" dryness so often found in stouts which the beer closely resembles. Not bad, just not really up my alley. 141002

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkelbraunes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch fruchtig, leicht schokoladig, holzig, bitter. Geschmack röstmalzig, leicht getreidig, fruchtig.

Bottle at Euston Tap with Nick. Lovely ruby pour with a foamy, tan head. Ripe fruits, berries in the nose, light toast. Lightly sweet, some toffee and berries, lightly toasted malts. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Some dark sugars in the finish, more ripe fruits, a bit of earthy hops. Pretty good stuff.
