Copper red colour. Large head, nice lacing. Sweet aromas which are soundly followed by grassy, herby flavours. Dry aftertaste with citrus. Supposedly inspired by Kenya.

The clear and familiar aroma of caramel malt spreads already pouring. The foam is nice, but rapidly falling into a thin continuous layer on top of the red-brown, clear ale. It have the familiar flavor of caramel and nuts as one expects from a brown ale. Furthermore, the slightly acidic citrus and has a hop bitterness is long-winded. Good fullness, but no surprise moments. Better alternatives to a brown ales are determined.

Bottled (backlog). Copper colour, mediumsized off white head which leaves some lace. Aroma is sweet malts, toffee, grass and mild herbal notes. Flavour is sweet malts, a bit acidic wood as well as some herbal and fruity notes as well. Also quite strong red berries to it.

Bottle. Bought under the name Ngong hills. Sweet aroma - almost like rasberries. Clear ambercolour with small beige head.. Malty, a bit watery taste. Really no fruits in flavour and the connection to Kenya or even Africa does not in any way come into my mind.

KimJohansen (10498) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - SEP 14, 2008
