A clear red/brown colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of caramel, fruits. There is sweet with some bitter. The taste of caramel sweet. fruits like citrusand cherries. Some bitter and some spices. The aftertaste mostly sweet with a little bitter. JorisPPattyn (10003) - Ursel, BELGIUM - NOV 17, 2010
Beautiful foxy-chestnut coloured, clear beer with an amber-beige, huge head. Very bready/leafy/earthy sweet-sweetish nose, with some bananaester, smelling for all the world as a "Dunkler Bock" or "Dunkler Weizenbock". Spicy-strong flavoured, sweetish beer with lots of melanoidins, sweet & roasted malts, overripe banana and other grains. Finish has some faint bitterish, earthy notes, without losing its spiciness ane sweetness, caramelsyrup-like, if not cloying. Well-carbonated, rather well-bodied, alcoholwarming. Decent balance, decent beer. But IMO certainly not a French Bière de Garde, but a Dunkles Doppelweizenbock. Maybe top-fermented, but a Bock nonetheless. Jerre (3391) - Waregem, BELGIUM - OCT 10, 2010

Pours a cloudy copper brown to brown beer, fine beige head, disappears quickly. No refermentation in the bottle, just came out of the Proefbrouwerij brewery. Aroma is heavy sweet, caramel, dried fruits. MF a little flat, no doubt because of the lack of refermentation yet. Round body, smooth texture, even a little oily. Taste of caramel, sweet fruits, roasted malts. Aftertaste has roasted malts, caramel, mocha and a nice sour twist to counter this all.
