Bottle at home. Clear copper pour, thin off-white head. Aroma of bready yeast, spicy and malty with brown sugar and some licorice. Flavor is quite sweet, huge carbonation and a thick body. Spicy but smooth. Well drinkable, but not very outspoken. Alengrin (5376) - BELGIUM - AUG 22, 2014
Heavy dark Jessenhofke launched in 2010. Intended as a provision, beer, with off-white, sticky head and deep bronze colour. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, hazelnuts, pear, honey, liquorice, candi sugar. Dark fruits in the mouth, yeasty, chocolatey maltiness, some roasted bitterness in the end. A Scotch-style ale in my view and not at all a true bière de garde, but interesting nonetheless. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAR 8, 2012
Bottle @ home. Aroma is red fruits, caramel, some molasses. Okay.
Flavour is medium bitterness, mostly of roasted malt, some fruity notes, murky molasses in the finish. Good beer, just not really my thing.

Bottle. Dark amber color. Butter cookies and maple syrup in the aroma. Sharp alcoholic sweet flavor with some distant vinous notes and butterscotch. Oaky aftertaste. Not unpleasant but limited in depth.
