BlackHaddock (7235) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 12, 2012
33cl Dumpy brown bottle, best before 19 Nov 2011, poured into a Duvel glass on 10 Mar 2011, slowly, ensuring no sediment entered the glass. Mid golden body, almost dull and certainly not the regular bright tripels often found in Belgium. Clear with small bubbles rising through body from the Duvel ’D’. On top was a full, deep, white head, impressive considering how slowly I poured the beer. It left some heavy lacing as the beer level fell. The aroma was yeasty and hoppy, with a nutty hints. The refreshingly crisp taste was a good combination of hops and crystal malts. Easy to drink and it hides the alcohol content very well, I was impressed. A good beer and one of the many enjoyable Belgian tripels I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing.

#1242 Ziemlich belangloses Tripel, um es gleich vorwegzunehmen. Hefig und etwas rezent, zu stark malzbetont, leicht spritig...aber vor allem fehlt mir ein Tripel-würdiges Aroma!

Cloudy yellow golden colour with big fluffy white head. Spices, pepper and mild yeast in aroma. Yeast, caramel, spices and mild hops in balanced flavour.

prawlie (1583) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 4, 2011
Bottle at De Palace in Poperinge. Orange cloudy beer with good head, in its own glass. Tastes yeasty with a bit of hops, and of alcohol. Light yeasty aroma. Quite decent rather than very decent, doesn’t do that much to stimulate the tastebuds.

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange. White head. Nose of peach, yeast, orange peel and dried fruit. Taste falls way short - lots of very old sitting around in the hot sun dried fruit, spicy hops, garlic and dried barley. Light to medium body.

Very light body, almost water. The gimmick here is that there are notes of garlic and onion, I dont taste anything. Not offensive however.
