Bottle sampled at Borefts. Pours dark brown with a ring beige head. Aroma of massive coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, some licorice and molasses. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation. jmgreenuk (9444) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - SEP 28, 2012
Bottle at Borefts. Dark mahogany pour with a thin tan head. Coffee chocolate aroma which was also surprisingly sweet. Big roasted malty taste with a bitter liquorice palate. A big beer packed full of flavours. Very special.

Borefts 12. Pitch black colour with a small light brown head. Smells bourbon, roasty, some liquorice wood. Tastes sweet, lots of dark chocolate and a bit roasty. Full body and a silky but earming feel. Fin (10536) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 28, 2012

Black, thin brown head. Smells awesome - coffee, peppers, and cinnaon. Taste is chocolate cake, coffee, and some pepper heat. Really well made and almost decadent. Thanks to rougeau13 for the trade! mar (5415) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 8, 2012
Pitch black, khaki head. Nose is alcohol, pepper, roasted malt, chocolate. Great on the palate, pepper, alcohol, roasted malts, delicious. 3sheets2wind (78) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - SEP 7, 2012
Poured from 750mL bottle into the jester king eponymous snifter. Aroma and initial taste are very boozy. Pours purple-black with almost no head. Leaves no lacing. Little carbonation and it coats the tongue. Very velvety mouth feel. The chipotle is very forward. It dominates the palate. Some coffee, chocolate and tobacco notes on the back. I had this on cask at the brewery and it was unbelievable. But the bottle leaves a lot to be desired. bleeng (1682) - Seattle still not near Beersel., Washington, USA - SEP 7, 2012
750 bottle. Pours almost flat with no appreciable head. uh oh I’m thinking Lost Abbey.....big chocolate roasty nose. Taste is very full, with lots of roastiness, bitterness, chocolate, and a moderate alcohol bite. No carbonation-flat. Is this beer meant to be like this? I like the taste but give me a bit of carbonation on this one guys. Good overall but minus points for being flat.
