At big Texas beer fest 2012. Pours black with small head that disappears. Aroma is tang, fresh sour notes, dar marshmallow roasted malt. Taste is sour for sure, medium acidity, dark earthy roasted malt notes. Very interesting and quite abut different than most other dark sours i have had. Would bang again. jkwalking05 (4745) - Arlington, Texas, USA - NOV 27, 2013

JK. Black color with tan foam. Dusty earthy black malt, coffee, dry chocolate aromas. Medium body. Sour dark bread flavors with dry chocolate, black malts--not as likeable as the other Black Metal varients
On tap @ BTBF.
This was one of my favorite beers of a day filled with amazing brew. Pitch black pour with a small amount of khaki head. Aroma is crazy complex - oak, dark fruit, vinous, vanilla, tart, and a hint of roast. Flavor is quite tart and woody with berries and pitted fruit. I really hope this gets bottled at some point. dfinney23 (3424) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 24, 2012
A sour stout? Kind of wacky but it really works! Looks like a typical stout but the sourness comes through even in the aroma. Taste is dark, woody and funky with a great sour finish. BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - APR 30, 2012

On tap at the Big Texas Beer Fest.
The beer pours a deep, black color with a tan head - exactly as expected. However, this is where things take a detour from the traditional. The aroma is extremely funky, with some very tart fruit notes and some oak, roasted malt and a little chocolate. The flavor is similar, with a lot of tartness and some vinegar notes, complimented by the expected notes of chocolate, coffee and heavily roasted malts. Surprisingly, all of this works together fairly well. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Glad I got to try this one. jhamp9 (2010) - Corinth, Texas, USA - APR 15, 2012
Tap at BTBF. Pours black with ring of khaki head. Aroma is dark chocolate, bitter coffee, some vinegar. Taste is very much the same with a lot of funk. Almost has a lactic acidity to it.
