This was quite the interesting and different beer. Pours dark brown with a crimson hue and has a smallish tan head. The aroma is quite nutty with chocolate, mild oak, saison-ish yeast, caramel / toffee and some breadiness - really nice. It has a light body that is fairly smooth with a modest amount of carbonation. The flavor starts off with spiciness, earthiness, funk yeast, dry breadiness, oak, and smooth toasty malt. The finish has dry earthy herbal elements added. There is some anise as it warms along with some sourness. Really nice. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - NOV 27, 2012
