Pours a thick black from the bottle with thin ring of bubbly tan brown head that leaves light lace. Aroma of big roast and chocolate notes over a hint of fruitiness from the yeast. Taste follows with a mild soy oxidation, but not terrible, booze is well hidden. Really nice. gephross100 (943) - Bellaire, Texas, USA - SEP 9, 2016
Fresh at the source. Farmhouse yeast hasn’t taken over yet. Currant, chocolate, vanilla nose. Medium mouthfeel long dry coffee finish. Medium sweetness. Very fruity very good. Too bad it will be all farmhouse or sour in a couple weeks Palme (4816) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 6, 2016
0.75l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Looks lovely with a huge really lingering and near creamy deep chocolate brown head that leaving good lacings. Smells of dark wood, bitter cocoa powder, some chocolate, mild cold coffee, lots of roasted malts and traces of mild sour dark dried fruits. It smells quite nice. Lots of flavor at first and in the end. It’s definitely roasted this! Dark near charred black flavors. It has a mild oily, somewhat light feeling in the mouth and it’s gentle in the carbonation. Bitter dried chocolate, green wood, some slightly acidic wood burning wood tones. Yeah, it’s warming the back of the throat pretty well. Lots of flavor, but I think I prefer the other version. 21.05.2014 TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUL 3, 2016
An OG bottle, sad and happy opening it, because there are only so many of these left in the wild, shared with family. Pours an opaque dark brown color almost black like oil with khaki colored head. Roasted malts and chocolate on the nose at this point; follows onto the palate. Full bodied. Finishes with roast and cocoa. This was a treat, glad I had a bottle to open during fireworks. Poured from a 22oz bottle into a snifter. This pours a semi-thick pitch black color with a massive (especially for the abv) mocha colored head which has good retention and leaves a lacing. The smells are of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, hops and a bit of alcohol. The feel is nice and thick. The taste is pretty good, a load of dark chocolate, roasted malts and a nice bitter finish. Good stuff.

Had this on tap at the source in 03/2016. I’m submitting it under this listing. Pours pitch black, bubbly tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, nice sour notes. Flavor is wow, lots of roasted malts, chocolate, sour funk. Mostly an imperial stout. But brilliant funk. gregwilsonstl (2613) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 20, 2016

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice thick brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of black chocolate with light sweet notes is quite nice. Taste is also a great mix of creamy black chocolate notes with some residual sugar and hints of roasted malt. Body has a nice creamy texture with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nice smooth easy drinking stout. I am surprised at how well the bottle has aged over the years. GenDV138 (7579) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - JAN 10, 2016
