COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boxer’s Revenge is inspired by the hearty “stock ales” or “provision ales” produced by some of iconic farmhouse breweries located along the Franco-Belgian border and named in honor of the stalwart workhorse in George Orwell’s Animal Farm. It combines delicate notes of tropical fruit, citrus and spice from the primary French farmhouse yeast with tart, rustic, earthy notes from the Brettanomyces. A final dry-hopping with fresh Cascade and Centennial hops adds yet another layer of depth and complexity.

Kirunavinter (35) - Linköping, SWEDEN - FEB 3, 2015

Beermack (725) - London, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2015
2011 bottle shared. Reddish orange pour, not much head, v light carb. Nose is sour and dirty - big barnyard, big woody notes, sour citrus and earth. Taste gives big woody earthy funk, some red berries, citrus, big Bretty tang. Rough sour finish, lingering wood, spruce and Brett. A big sour punch to the face, remember enjoying younger bottles more, but still very good.

Bov (13354) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JAN 19, 2015
from Erzbierschof - cloudy dark orange beer with a long lasting foam; funky and decently woody, notes of oranges, cheese and grapefruits; full-bodied, juicy and sourish palate, quite dry and long fruity aftertaste of orange peels, almonds, wood and marzipan with a lingering sourness

3.3
tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - DEC 28, 2014
Bottle: Completely opaque sunburst with orange around the edges. Almost reaches brown at the center. Three-quarter inch eggshell head reduces quickly, not leaving much behind. Kind of an ugly beer, really. Aroma has a nice bout of tart & funk up front. Wet hay, apple skins, vinous booze, oak, lactic acid, white grape, mild horseblanket, & some leathery must. Taste is quite heavy for a wild ale. Strong wine-akin booziness that sits heavy in the belly. Warming. Didn’t realize this was 10.2% ABV at first (this was an early batch). Notes of green apple skin, mild tropical fruit, grapes, sour lacto, hints of white vinegar, wet oak, a touch of leathery barn funk, & even a very slight hint of whiskey. Thick, robust mouth feel, medium-high carbonation. All in all, pretty tasty, but maybe just a bit heavy for the style.

Bottle bought through brill & Co. Pours murky reddish yellow with a bubbly with a small bubbly offwhite head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sour, fruity and funky with crackers, pineapple, mango, dry soil, hay, apple cider vinegar, alcohol, yuzu and lemon zest. Taste is sour, fruity and funky with cracker, grapefruit, pineapple, gooseberries, hay, dry soil, barnyard, apple cider vinegar and lemon zest Mouthfeel is slightly sharp, dry, tart and medium bodied. Finish is sour with crackers, lemon juice, pineapple, gooseberries, sour milk, dry soil, hay, barnyard and lemon zest. Bit apple cider vinegar sharp but all in all a tasty sour.

Salmoniform (1281) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - OCT 19, 2014
Poured from bottle to glass. Hazy golden hue with fizzy white head. Aroma is peppercorn, huge oak, straw, lactic. Mouthfeel is good with a light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry sweet with a tart following and wood tannin finish. Overall this is an interesting brew but VERY heavily oaked.

jfb (6984) - GERMANY - SEP 24, 2014
(bottle) murky golden colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of coconut, lemon meringue pie and vanilla, with lots of lime zest and some yeast. flavour is quite tart, with lots more lemons, some walnuts, nettles and a hint of alcohol in the finish. medium- to heavy-bodied with average carbonation.

3.9
Boutip (6628) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 12, 2014
Bottle: Poured a hazy blonde color ale with a medium size foamy head with limited retention and not much lacing. Aroma of tart and oak notes with some light funky ester is quite nice. Taste is also dominated by tart and oak notes with some funky ester with low level of acidity. Hops presence had pretty much disappeared which is no surprised considering the age of the bottle. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Quite complex beer that retained some good drinkability.
