3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A selfish pour from 750 bottle into my trusty JK snifter. Primarily orange with gold edges. Topped by a few large bubbles, but no fine carbonation or head to speak of. A hearty swirl brings a few bubbles back to the top, but they fade quickly. Smells of sour funk, pineapple, whiskey, orange and vanilla. Taste is warm whiskey, hay, sour apple, earth, ripe red grape, barely sour pucker at the end. This would be an outstanding beer with reasonable carbonation (a sparkly finish). More time in the bottle would be quite advantageous, too.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle from last night’s share. Pours out a cloudy opaque brown with a small beige head. Aroma is initially some light fruity notes, tartness also comes through, as does some of the barrel. Taste is initially the sourness, but behind that lingers the fruity tastes and a bit of savory spice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle; Pour is deep gold, with a one finger white head into this glass. It retains poorly , with light lace presence. The nose is musty, minerals, with bready malts and lemon grass notes. Pepper Spice revels itself as well. The flavor profile is a little rough around the edges- which... is fitting I suppose to the packaging elements of this beer. It begins initially tart sour notes with lemon pie, and a certain harshness from the brett and the dry hopping, which reveals more light tropical notes and bittering. Notes of hay and more white pepper round things out to a dry, boozy finish line and oaky tannins. It would be difficult to attribute the word delicate as the brewer did with this beer. I would ultimately call this another somewhat muddled but fun attempt from Jester King

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Original, Irish Craft Beer #1, shared with 77ships.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear strong golden with a white rim that leaves some lacing. Nose is of pepper, ripe fruits and alcohol. Taste is moderately tart, fruity, cidery even, with more pepper. Feels quite strong, I could tell it was 10+% ABV. Not too funky. Moderate body and carbonation with a lot of warming alcohol. Still manages to feel vinous, though. A pretty nice one that could use a "light" version.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
bottle courtesy of mathieuc, thanks on this one bro! pours cloudy bright orange with a nice reviving off-white cap, nice lacing. fragrant clementines, dried apricots, woodsy coconut, bitting/bitter alcohol, earthy and spicy hops; light acidity - complex flora; texan minerals. bright and almost foamy carbonation, medium body, boozy, gently tart and tannic-woody-spicy finish. a rare good high gravity american sour - ahem. enjoyed!
