COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Buddha’s Brew is a 4.7% alcohol by volume sour wheat ale fermented entirely in oak barrels and blended with Buddha’s Brew Kombucha. We racked unfermented wort directly into oak barrels and inoculated it with souring bacteria. From there, it spent nine months aging in our barrel room before being blended with live Kombucha from Buddha’s Brew at bottling. Like all our beer, it’s unfiltered, unpasteurized & naturally carbonated through re-fermentation in the bottle.

Draft @ Borefts 2012. The beer of the festival for me. Hazy milky yellow big fluffy collapsing head. The nose is damn creamy lactic, lemons, funky, brett goodness. Taste is hugely lactic, brett, lemon sour with what I assume is Kombucha, living brett, bacterial goodness, soft and nice like a jellyfish, light mineral side going on here. tad spices and yeast curling up like scared snail. Crazy drinkable - should be served in jugs.

Jester King Buddha's Brew A- hazy golden straw color, very refreshing looking. Minimal white head & disappears fast. The label kicks ass. Matte label with metallic highlights. S- light funk, sugary sweetness, grapes, light fermented tea/cider aromas. T- moderate grape and lemon tartness starts up front. Bit of wheat in the middle. Finishes with an interesting creamy yogurt/cream cheese flavor and some oak notes. Has a very long lingering tart yogurt wheat flavor, almost like a taffy or a lemon tootsie roll aftertaste. Very good. Has just the right amount of tartness. Not puckering, but doesn't taste watered down either. M- moderate carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Very yogurt like. You can taste this beer long after your last sip. That lactic taste just sticks around, not in a bad way cause its very enjoyable. Pretty wet finish. O- very good stuff. As always Jester King makes interesting beer. A lot like a Berliner Weisse but with a lot of subtle, je ne sais quoi, flavors. Very refreshing, very light. Highly drinkable. I've never had Kombucha before so some of the flavors in this beer are new to me. -

Was it work and need of beer that made me like this so? Do nor really think so - mood of bar was more on the somber side as I attempted to give myself a late birthday present.. So rather think I liked this despite conditions. On the simple side? Well, perhaps not deeply complex except that they definitely hit what I like in a sour - tart, managing to get "clean" wrapped around the funk. I mean some sours are just barely hinting at it and some are battling other bits of the brew, be it malt or infection or whatever. Starw colored, if that helps. Read other reviews as I cannot ever pull good descriptors, just gut feeling.

The more beer I have from Jester King, the more I like what they do. This one pours clear bright yellow with a spotty white head. The aroma is highly herbal and floral. It also has lemon, lavender, peaches, mild malt, slight tartness, vanilla and some nice bugginess. It has a light crisp bright body with some husk and a mild amount of sharp carbonation. The flavor starts out very bright, sharp and refreshing. There is sharp lemon, tart kambucha, labmic-esque style bugginess and dried herbs. The finish has light oak tones, but still mainly crisp and lively. Really solid unique offering.

Bottle shared, received in a trade from Errl. Thanks! Pours a hazy yellow with a white head of foam. The aroma has funky fruit, some grape, some wet wood. The taste has great acidity and fruity funk. Lighter body with a medium carbonation. This is a really great beer.

On tap at Funk n Sour Fest. Pours a cloudy yellow with white head tha quickly diminishes to nothing. The aroma is funk sour fruit and kombucha. Thin mouthfeel with a tart sour fruit with very sour finish. Wow really enjoyed this one. A very impressive sour ale from Jester King.

Slightly hazy yellow orange in color... Aroma of citrus, grains, tea, funk... Flavor is light and citrusy, tea and lemony notes, light funk and tartness on palate... Reminds me a bit of das wunderkind with more tea notes... Super light and crushable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
