Jester King Das Wunderkind
A- pour hazy cider color with a nice fizzy looking head. The appearance reminds me of a fuzzy peach or something. Quite a bit of lacing sticking to the glass.
S- tart peaches and lemons with some barnyard funk and straw aromas. It smells very tart.
T- Surprisingly it's nowhere near as tart as the aromas would have you believe. Slight lemon tartness up front with straw and funk again and a hint of white pepper and bitterness on the finish. Very mellow, subtle flavors but still tasty.
M- makes my tongue fuzzy. Wanted a bit more carbonation. Still light and mellow.
O- Honestly I was expecting more sour flavors, but I guess it's a Saison not a sour. This would be Le Petit Prince's big brother. Moderately complex, highly drinkable. Needs more carbonation though. Not bad.
750ml bottle. Musty lemony citrus aroma with notes of funk, saison yeast, oak and grape must. Pours pale golden colored with a thin white head that has little retention and some lacing. Starts with musty lemon, funk and spicy saison yeast as well as a lively mouthfeel. Finishes dry with oak and vinous grape flavors. Really nice saison. UPDATED: DEC 25, 2017 Bottle from Zac playing Rummikubes on Christmas. A light, lemony, spritzy saison that keeps a little earthy spice. Nicely brewed ZacM612 (876) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - DEC 25, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2017 Hazy, pale yellow with white head. Strong aroma of spice and citrus. Tartness and wild yeast. Nice. Sudz4Dayz (165) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 13, 2017
750ml bottle obtained in a trade. Pours hazy golden yellow with a fizzy bubbly white head. Very carbonated. Smells funky and tart. Hops and barrel wood come through as well. Winey musk to it along with a wheat finish. Tastes tart, sour, funky, woody, hoppy bitterness cut out with the dry barrel wood. Very good. Nice full mouthfeel and funky aftertaste. Dirnks like a crisp pale ale with a sour finish. I enjoyed it. ads135 (5232) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - FEB 18, 2017
A good, dry sour. Pours light, but has a very aggressive malty, oaky character that lends balance to the sourness. Courtesy of Emma for Christmas in 2016.

Bottle at tasting. Aroma of sour citrus, dry yeast and oak. Nice taste of soft tart, citrus, oak, whisky, dry yeast and some grain. Very balanced and tasty. NachlamSie (3615) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 6, 2016
25.36 oz bottle at El Camino. This is a hazy gold with no real head. The aroma is a little sour and peppery, certainly funky. My favorite thing about Jester King is how absurdly dry most of their beers are. This is no exception, it’s drier than most any other beers I can think of. Even, pleasant sourness is in the flavor with notes of oak, straw, barnyard, and lemons. Very tasty. JohnnyJ (5572) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 7, 2016
