Dark chocolate, dark cherry aroma... Dark black in color, tan head... Flavor is dark cherry, chocolate, roasted malts, tobacco, smoke... Light tartness on palate, more mild compared to some sour stouts... Great beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle, vintage is Batch #4. Pours a translucent dark black with light barely passing on meniscus that is a slight ruby hue. Aroma is akin to a chocolate covered sour cherry. Flavor is same with oak and vanilla, with bread and dark fruit. A nice beer.

Bottle shared up at Hunaphu Day. Black pour with a small brown head. Aroma of buttermilk, lactic acid, roasted malts, faint cocoa and oak. Similar in flavor with more of the chocolate/roast notes pulling forward and a tart, lactic finish. Solid beer.

A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, bitter chocolate malt with coffee grind, herbaceous character, floral hops, nice. In mouth, a nice mix of sour tartness over bitter chocolate, lactic acid, wood extract, nice. Bottle at Spinrsx tasting.

Bottle... darkguardians & biggsbowlers West Palm Beach Birthday Bash!... Pours pitch black with a small, creamy, mushroom-colored head. Fantastic retention. Olfactory standouts are walnuts and fudge. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and dancing carbonation. The flavor offers a slightly odd, but very nice marriage of fudge and lactic acidity. Finishes chocolaty, roasty and tart. Bottle courtesy of Rosebud butternuts!

Served in Jester King stemware (thanks Michael). The beer is a near black shade with an oily beige head. The aroma is quite interesting. Dark fruits, plum, brett, oak, sour cherry, rye bread. Intense sour with an overly ripe sour cherry flavor. Lactic mouthfeel with a puckering finish. Roast and stout character is overwhelmed by the wild ale component. That said, I dont mind the imbalance that much. Intriguing and interesting. A nice sipper.

The beer is about 2 years old, Batch 1. It has that JK funkiness, barnyard to it, with the backbone of Black Metal. It is a decent job on a sour stout, there are still notes of cocoa present, but I would have liked more.
