Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, sour, funky, wood. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, tart, sour barrel, dark malts. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Fruity and light acidic flavour of berries and red wine with notes of cocoa powder.

Draft @ CBC 2013. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted sour tart woody aroma. Fruity sour tart woody caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty sour tart woody finish.

Borefts Beer Festival IV. Day 2. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and a little crisp. Semi dry. Mild dark malts well integrated with sour bretty flavours. Pleasantly sour - not overwhelming. Semi dry finish. One of the better sour dark beers around.
On tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours dark, brown-black with a fine, beige cream head. Dusty cocoa nose, subtle funk notes. Light to medium sweet flavor, notes of dirt, more dusty chocolate, very mellow funk. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Modest dark malt finish, some dry chocolate. Very OK stuff. Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Black with a small brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, sour fruit, brett and wood. Flavor is quite sweet, moderate bitter and moderate acidic. Dry, moderate bitter and light acidic. 171013
