Tap. Pours jet black with a creamy brown head. The aroma is funk, roasted malt, chocolate, licorice and coffee. Sweet but acidic kick in the flavor with notes of chocolate and coffee.
Bottle shared with koleminer20 and Gus. Aroma is sour, barrel, roasted malt, dark fruit, booze, decent. Appearance is dark dark brown, light brown, poured thinnish. Taste is tart, dark fruit, roasted malt, barrel, coffee, some smoke, really nice. Mouthfeel is medium body, light crisp carbonation, smoky roasty tart aftertaste. Tasting @ Tim's. Pours dark brown with some reddish hue, aggressively brown foam. Nose has lots of boozy and vinegary alcohol soaked berries. Some cocoa character in the background with light roast. Tastes vinegary, more of that cocoa dust with cherries, chocolate candy. Very decent balance with lots of berries back there, light bitterness, cocoa dust. Amazing stuff, enjoying this immensely. Sour tart nose with tons of cherries, fairly acidic, soy, umami, some dark chocolate amazing nose. Sour mouth with tons of cherries, oak, ash, dark chocolate, dark fruit in the mouth. September 2017 - Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. As 'Jester King Funk Metal'. Opaque black with a foamy brown head that leaves dotted lacing. Aroma is minty, bretty, earthy. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is earthy, menthol, tart, little acidic. A bit weird and not really joined up. Sour stouts...far more often a disappointment than a pleasure. Deep black pour under a thick tan head. Bright funky and toasty stoutly nose with a sharp lactic twang and light wood cherry tones. Brisk bright cherry acidity and dark toasted stout grains on the palate with a kiss of cherry and loads of sharp sour tones, woody funk, sweet dark chocolate, and a lingering sour stout body. Amaze balls.
