Bottle shared by friends - thanks Nick! Pours hazy amber gold, very little head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, fruit. Hint of funkiness, a fruitiness I can't place, a little tropical and spicy, cheese, gently sweet with a lightly lingering bitterness. Soft carbonation, medium/full body, thick and slick. Some earthy, almost oaky (tannin?) notes. Overall: I really like this - something about the flavor combo I haven't had before and am digging - it's intriguing and very tasty.

Pours medium amber from a bomber, aroma is light spice and funk, taste is pretty sweet, but not a whole lot going on, decent JPDurden24 (1675) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - JUL 4, 2013
It looks like apple cider, aroma of Belgian yeast and some fruity spiciness. Taste is similar, a really nice farmhouse. ben4321 (6668) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUN 25, 2013

Aroma: The nose is clean malts, heavy spice, Belgian yeast, grass and a bit of fruit
Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange color with a thick, foamy beige head and plenty of lace
Flavor: The taste is dominated by the spice, with a mild sweetness, fruit, and a little funk
Palate: The body is medium, it has a fizzy carbonation, and a dry, funky, spicy finish on the mouth
I thought this was a pretty interesting beer. There’s a good amount of spice here for sure, but that isn’t the only component. The funk, sweetness, and bitterness all play roles as well, I’ll be it clearly supporting roles.
750 ml. shared bottle. Pours a golden amber with a nice off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, caramel, spice, and yeast. Taste is similar with a bit of alcohol and hops. Nice.

Bottle @ MPLS LOL. Thanks Caleb! Pours a hazy orange appearance with a tan head. Somewhat spicy, orange fruity, spicy, a bit yeasty aroma. Tangy, orange fruity, light tart, a bit cherry, herbal, spritzy flavor. alexsdad06 (10640) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUN 10, 2013
Bottle at tasting. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma was herbal, floral, citrus, mils spice with a hint of barnyard. The flavor was herbal, floral, earth, toasted cereals, and citrus. Decent, but not my favorite from these guys. SudsMcDuff (8468) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - MAY 31, 2013
bottle from Shoky .. . pours a deep amber .. massive awesome head .. lacing too .. . what happened to this beer!?! .. a little while in the cellar and it falls apart!?! or did it suck this bad off the bat?? .. . cork, mud, dead yeast, yeast, and soggy grain .. . mild mouth .. a touch boozy .. . not at all enjoyable, another miss in the JK stable of low par beers.. .. how can they make such nice barrel/weird beers (weasel, salt lick for example) and then make so much mop water... .. still love JK but this was weak.. .. .. you paid for a song!! Grabbed a 750 ml bottle at Whip In while visiting Austin an poured it right here. Batch #8, Mar 2013. Pours light golden and slightly cloudy with a fluffy one finger head. Aroma of sweet honey and banana, yeast, and pineapple. Bit of peppery spice at the slightly dry end. Light and fruity yet slick mouthfeel. Very much tripel like. High carbonation. Awesome label. Jester King (and Texas) officially ticked!
