From Notes, 4/23/12:
Poured a 750ml bottle into a Jester King snifter. First batch directly from the brewery.
A: Cloudy burnt orange with a fluffy white head that settles into a ring that laces down the glass nicely.
S: Citrus up front, barnyard, faint malt sweetness. Some spiciness as well.
T: Follows the nose, except everything is more pronounced. Citrus in the beginning, maltiness in the middle, slightly bitter hops in the finish.
M: Medium and perfect for the style.
O: This is the best offering by Jester King since Black Metal. Gets better as it warms up. I can’t keep my nose out of this one, as it smells amazing. Definitely a sipper to be enjoyed with a meal. If you want a widely available comparison, Boulevard’s Tank 7 would be it. At the risk of sounding like a TX homer, I believe Mad Meg surpasses it. SPDickerman (1315) - Texas, USA - JUL 1, 2012
Pours hazy orange with a large white head. Smells of wheat, farmhouse funk, and a bit of earthy, spicy hoppiness. Taste is a bit funky, farmhouse-like, with some bitter citruses. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and average mouth-carbonation, Jester King Mad Meg Farmhouse Provision Ale finishes with a touch of funk. mgajdaczewa (2285) - Katowice, POLAND - APR 27, 2015
Alkohol? Był tam jakiś alkohol? Bliskie absolutu! hoppyhead12 (12) - Texas, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Poured from bottle. Cloudy golden color, with thin white head, little lacing. Smells of rich floral notes. Perfect balance of malty and hoppy, sharp kick of orange and citrus. Nutty-almond after taste. Great beer. GODiSSOUTHERN (390) - Virginia, USA - MAY 1, 2012
Amazing farmhouse ale! Hard to describe but very unique fruity and slightly funky. Flavor develops nicely as this one opens up. Great medium body and deceptively smooth. None of the typical off flavors ommon w farmhouse ales. Awesome!

750 ml bottle
Pours a hazy orangish gold capped by a bright white two and half finger head with a large amount of lacing present as the head recedes, great retention. This brew is extremely well-carbonated no extra effort will be needed in achieving an adequate head on the pour. The nose has fruit, floral, and grassy notes, and the distinctive smell of farmhouse yeast. anstei (2608) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - DEC 12, 2015
Batch 8, March 2013, draught in December 2015. Beautiful farmhouse aroma, rich and fruitily dusty. Sweet and rich taste, very well balanced with bitterness, carbonization and alcohol. Beautiful!
