Mad Meg is simple in terms of ingredients with French pilsner malt, wheat, a touch of caramunich and acidulated malt, Czech Saaz hops and our farmhouse yeast. It is golden colored and quite strong at over 9% ABV. The palate intertwines delicate farmhouse esters with earthy, spicy hops and clean malt flavors.

Aroma: candi sugars, peach, gooseberry, sweet red apples with zesty walls. Complex greatness.
Appearance :
Top: medium lighter white top.
Base: hazy, cloudy amber gold brew
Palate : medium carbonation, silky coating.
Taste: white apple , fruity mid with dry edge, bitter mid end. Mix of fruity ester with alcohol.

Bottle @ Home. Pours slightly hazy dark yellow with an offwhite head. Aroma of malt, yeast, light brett, sweetness, hay, spice. Flavor is rather sweet, malty, yeast, little caramel, hay, fruit, alcohol. Medium to full body, average carbonation, sweet finish with warming alcohol. 240416

Bottle @ rhus tasting. Pours cloudy Yellow with a white head. Aroma of yeast, fruity, light Brett, tangerine, quite heavy sweet. Taste is very sweet, bretty, esters.

Hazy golden brown volor with great head. Strong alcoholic flavour. Sweet and licorice. Too strong but not bad at all.

DWF; Drunk at ST. Bottle, large. Pours large, hazy light gold with a frothy to creamy, lasting and lacing tan head. Nose is moderate to heavy, malt plums, sour, yeast, sour candy like, spice and light alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet and medium sour bitter with a lasting sour sweet plum, warming finish. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Batch 8, March 2013, draught in December 2015. Beautiful farmhouse aroma, rich and fruitily dusty. Sweet and rich taste, very well balanced with bitterness, carbonization and alcohol. Beautiful!

Poured into a tulip. Like just about every other JK beer Ive had, this is overcarbonated. 3.25 A: Murky yellow brown color. Many fingers of foamy white head. Not going to mention retention because it was massively overcarbonated, but much of it did stick to the glass. 3.75 S: LIke JKs other farmhouse brews, this has a ton of herbalness in it. I can pick out specific herbs too, but I dont know what the hell they are called. Also getting a healthy dose of wildflowers, apple orchard, barnyard funk, and dry wood. Finally, plenty of earthiness makes this a dirty, rustic nose. 3.25 T: Tastes like it smells, except that there is too much damn yeast. It was too carbonated to properly decant this, so it has to be figured into the review. Still, its not too bad. Again, lots of herbalness. Wildflower, apple orchard, barn, wood. Earthy with a mild bitterness. 3.25 M: Medium body (would be lighter with less yeast I presume). Too much carbonation initially that I swirled to a manageable level. Spritzy. Would have been given a better score if it wasnt overcarbed. 3.25 D: Its not a bad brew, but the quality control at JK needs to improve.
