Pours pitch black with a large dark brown, mocha head. Smells strongly of chocolate with a strong coffee presence. Taste is bold: lots of chocolate, coffee, and some spice heat underneath. Full-bodied with a thick, chewy texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Jester King/Mikkeller Beer Geek Rodeo finishes with some solid pepper heat. PeterMon (11) - Texas, USA - MAY 30, 2012

Very good beer. Aroma is of coffee and malts. Strong smell. Dark brown to black body with a very tan head that lasted the whole time. Taste was of coffee with great spice. It actually burned my throat a few times (in a good way, helped me to experience the peppers better). very heavy, very thick. Moderate carbonation. Easy to drink for its style but again, very strong. kevinator (2860) - The Colony, Texas, USA - NOV 30, 2013
Really good. Nice blend of spice, roasted malt and coffee aromas. Intensely dark with a dark brown head that left nice lacing. Full weighty palate that had a slightly oily sense. Carbonation was at a good level and not distracting. Flavors blended well. You could tell this was a Mikkeller recipe with a Jester King spin. Good coffee, roasted barley, and some chocolate with a spicy finish. Just superb. Sigmund (8020) - Tau, NORWAY - MAY 14, 2012
Sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Smokey, peppery and roasty aroma, balanced by sweetish malty notes, lovely. Sweet, malty and roasty flavour, the smokey and peppery notes are fairly moderate, the coffee notes linger in the aftertaste. A pretty impressive beer. djd07 (16289) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2012
Cask at Texas Beerfest. Pours a black with medium tan head that lasts awhile leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is smoke and pepper. Thin mouthfeel with smokey malt and roast with a sweet finish. Really enjoye this one, a very impressive Imperial stout from JK/Mikkeller.

Opaque black with a medium sized, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, smoke, cocoa, chipotle, and alcohol. Taste of roast, smoke, dark fruits, dark chocolate, light alcohol, and a faint spiciness from the peppers.
