Sample from a bottle at the brewery. Pours an opaque brown with amber highlights and no head. Aroma of coffee, peppers, dark chocolate, and deep earthiness. Flavor hits the same notes. Roast is more distinct first with the spice hitting later. Medium body, low carbonation, and a spicy, roasty mouthfeel. Nice twist on the style.

Bottled. Pours pitch black with a medium sized tan head. Leaving a fair lacing on the glass. Nose of roasted malt, coffee and smoked notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dark fruits and spicy notes. Full bodied, oily texture and soft CO2. Ends up more dry and with alcohol notes. Great.★★★★

Big bottle with a great label! Ive been looking forward to this one, and Im thankful to Jamil for a trade. Coffee, dark chocolate fronted scent with an oat note and a lingering spiciness. Black, deep black with a low tan head on a vigorous pour ( a low point). Thick bodied, oily feel, smooth. Coffee roast fronted flavor to a dark chocolate note, then a stinging chipotle hotness crept in. Delicious!

Scardello bottle. Poured a little like Coke but with a smaller head made of big bubbles. Big aroma of coffee and sweeter malt. Nice warming from the peppers. To me, the base impy stout seemed a little off: thinner than expected. Fine overall.
