Bomber bottle. The aroma is sweet, dark malt. A little coffee. Jet black with a reddish brown head. The taste starts out dark malt and turns coffee dry and finishes earthy. The palate is very dry and the pepper giving it a lingering tingle that grew as you drank. Overall, a very interesting beer. Would buy again.

Oily black with a brown ring of head. Smell is amazing mix of smoke, coffee, wood and malt. Very creamy mouthfeel. Taste a lot of south coffee, barrel, oatmeal. Incredible beer. LamarBurton (376) - California, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Bottle at home by myself, because why not. Thanks hopper, for sending more TX goodness my way! Pour is a very dark brown with a nice mocha head that lasts as a skim and a ring around the glass, leaving spare lacing on the way down. Aroma is coffee, burnt and smokey malts, light chocolate. No hint of pepper on the nose, but that changes with the taste. More dark and roasty and smokey malts, coffee notes front palate, with a nice pepper heat on the back palate. Slightly bitter, though it’s hard to tell with the prickly pepper heat. A bit thin. Lasting burnt coffee notes after the final swallow. Not a bad beer, far preferred this to the BA version actually! Thanks again Josh! sjohnny (642) - - NOV 2, 2012
Caramel coffee aroma. Pours thick and black with minimal dark tan head. Obviously a lot of coffee in the flavor. Very smooth and rich. A little thinner mouthfeel than the color and flavor would indicate. Malty with very little bitterness. Very good. Errl (2442) - Plano, Texas, USA - OCT 27, 2012

Aroma is smooth coffee. Pitch black. Lacing is only an oily looking line. Pours with no head, only a slight tan line at the edge of the glass. Taste is dark full coffee/espresso. Only very slight heat from pepper that enhances the coffee flavor. Fairly thin on the palate. Slightly oily.

A strong coffee nose, with hints of chocolate and dark fruit. A flat opaque black pour with a mostly diminishing tan head and no lacing. The taste is strong bitter coffee with hints of chocolate, dark fruit sweetness and smoke. There is a bit of alcohol in the finish and a pleasingly slight peppery aftertaste. Full boddied with flat carbonation. Overall, this a rich complex multilayered stout that is worth sampleing again and again! dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - OCT 24, 2012
Bottle shared at my "Massive Mikkeller" tasting. Another one I was pretty excited to try since I love both brewers. Good amount of coffee flavor going on here, both in the aroma and taste. Not too much heat coming from the peppers but I ain’t complaining. It was great! Wordsworth (147) - Austin, Texas, USA - OCT 24, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 30, 2015 One of my favorite beesr. A mocha coffee nose with a thinner but sustained head. A noticeable coffee flavor up front followed by rich malts. After it goes down a light chipotle sizzle can be felt on the tongue. Amazing palate. Must be tried- preferably on tap at the brewery, but bottles suffice. thomat (3927) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 24, 2012
