Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee and chocolate aroma with woody hints. Roasted malty coffee and chocolate flavor with weak spicy chili hints and woody bourbon hints. Has a roasted malty woody coffee and chili finish. Thorpe429 (5032) - , Illinois, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Thanks, Chris! This is surprising from Jester King. Nose is nice whiskey with a bit of coffee. Flavor falls with too much chili. Medium chewy body. Huhzubendah (3781) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 2, 2012
Shared by raveskdr. Thanks Chris.
The beer is black with a quarter inch of beige crema head. The aroma offers roast, chocolate, molasses. The flavor is roasty and chocolate forward, followed by a zesty bite with a touch of hops. Medium to full bodied with relatively high carbonation. Overall, this was pretty tasty.

Bottle @ Armin’s bachelor party. Thanks Caleb! Pours a dark brown appearance with a tan/cream colored head. Kind of murky aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee, whiskey, vanilla, and wood. The flavor is even more so with a few nice notes going on (coffee, chocolate) but the whiskey kind of made it boozy and the peppers just made the thing strange. Fun to try nonetheless. stefannilssons (1578) - SWEDEN - OCT 24, 2012

Bottle @ BBF 2012. Dark brown with no head. malty with fruity tones. Malt, fruit, coffee and sour. Full body with a balanced finish. Martinus (4806) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - OCT 22, 2012
Dark brown black colour, tan head. Aroma of bourbon, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, bell pepper, vanilla and soy sauce. Light sweet flavour, coffee bitter, alcohol and coconut. Light wood, light red berries. Quite light body, surprisingly. Finish coffee, malts, bourbon and milk chocolate. Only a hint of chili.

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. It poured a dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma was of chocolate, coffee, peppers, peat and some caramel. The taste was medium to heavy sweet and moderately bitter. A full bodied beer with soft carbonation. Very tasty. Strykzone (7949) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - OCT 10, 2012
Sampled at an esbls tasting right after the nonbarrel aged version. Morebarrel wood andvanilla in the nose than coffee. Quite different than the regular. Bourbon, too. All of that is tasted and coffee is in the background. Pepper is late like in the original. _angst_ (5009) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 9, 2012
750 ml bottle received in trade. Thank you Jeffrey! Pours black with a fizzy and frothy dark mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty and spicy hot with roasted malts, quality dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, vanilla fudge, roasted coconut, pumpernickel, wood, alcohol, burnt caramel, green chili, whisky and hints of peat and lemon zest. Taste is sweet with roasted malts, sweet dark bread, vanilla fudge, dark roast coffee, green chili, dark chocolate, roasted coconut, toffee, burnt caramel, sweet liquorice candy, lemon zest, wood, oatmeal cookies and smoked chili. Mouthfeel is smooth, round, tiny boozy and near full bodied. Finish is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, dark roast coffee, alcohol and smoked chili.
