COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel-Aged Sour Brown Ale. In Britain, what started out as young or “mild” dark ale was once aged in oak barrels to make something that was likely similar to sour brown ales of East Flanders. Using a similar base recipe to Commercial Suicide Dark Mild, Ol’ Oi! is Jester King’s tribute to that tradition.

Tap at hops and pie. Clear dark red with a frothy beige head. Aromas of tart fruit, wood, light vanilla, musty earthy notes. Flavor is sour fruit, green apple, wood, vanilla and some funk on the end. Light to medium bodied, acidic with a dry finish. Lingering sour fruit.

Danke an Erzengel. Weich dunkelmalzig-säuerlicher Antrunk. Geringe Würzigkeit, leicht steigende Säure. Cremig weich, harmonisch, süffig. Wenig schokoladig im Hintergrund, die Holznoten werden trockener. Gut! 11/10/11/11/12/12

750ml bottle, 2017 vintage. Tart red wine aroma with notes of toffee, caramel, dark fruit, lacto and oak. Pours deep caramel brown colored with a thin tan head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with tart caramel, toffee and lacto flavors as well as a fairly light body for such a dark beer. Finishes quite tart with dark fruit sourness and red wine and oak flavors with red wine lingering on the palate. Nice sour brown.

750mL bottle. Pours dark brown with a moderate beige head. Aroma is tart, lightly funky, and acidic; wood, vinegar, light berries, and earth. Taste is tart; wood, vinegar, berries, caramel, and a little funk. Woody, slightly grainy finish. Somewhat dry-ish. Fairly strong acidity. Medium body. Average carbonation. Mouthfeel feels a little light and doesn't seem to convey the expected depth, but clean and adequate overall.

Dark brown, beige head. Deep sour nose, nice sturdy body that’s turned thinner by sourness. Taste has vinegar, nice acidity and a bit of darker or redder malts. Going to flanders red direction but stronger body and a few more layers there. Totally enjoyable.

Dirty brown color. Flat. Wood, sour cherries and very funky yeasty nose with modest oak notes. Very sour, cherries, great oak and vinous character. Kinda reminds me of merlot. Light and tart. Fantastic balance. Very interesting take on a Flanders red. Sour cherries last forever
