COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ale brewed with nearly three pounds of hops per barrel and 15% malted rye. Dry, flavorful, drinkable beer with vibrant notes of citrus, tropical fruit and pine.

Note: This entry is the original Wytchmaker. Beginning around the time of their first anniversary, Jester King switched to a farmhouse yeast for all of their beers. All ratings after this switch should be entered under the Farmhouse Wytchmaker Rye IPA entry. The original Wytchmaker bottles feature a small Jester King sticker on the neck; the Farmhouse Wytchmaker bottles have the word "Farmhouse" in small print on the label.

Muggus69 (2723) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - NOV 7, 2017
2015 vintage 750mL bottle at "Tony's Taphouse" Lively pour; settles down to a clear pale gold beer, loose foam. Aromas intriguing - dusty, chalky, some citrus & pine hop hang on, spicy, peppery. Body is very dry, lean, lengthy acidity without being bracing. Flavours are sort of subdued yet complex - hard cheese, grapefruit rind, plenty of pepper again, sort of dusty oak character somehow. Slightly puckering on finish Unique, proper farmhouse funk in an IPA

Bottle shared. Pours hazy amber with a medium white fluffy head. Notes of sweet malt, farmhouse yeasty notes, citrus, pine, floral notes, light bitter hoppy but mostly sweet. Finishes sort of spicy.

On tap. Old note. The aroma has bready malts, peach, grass. Bit hazy, amber coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is moderate bitter, with malt sweetness, bread, citrus and grass. Medium bodied beer. Nice.
