Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

This pils poured a clear light yellow with a quickly dissipating, bright white head. Minimal lacing. Scents include corn, perm solutions and hay. First swig was smooth with minimal carbonation. Flavours of hops and corn most prominent. Finish is bitter with the corn and hay lingering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pure white creamy head stayed well on a very active golden golden body. Yeast & lightly malted aroma. Medium to thin bodied. Sharp & clean. Not much to this. Yeast, floral & quite spicy with a long bitter finish.

Bottle. Clear Pale Yellow in colour. Large frothy white head. Herbal hops. Citrus fruity. Grainy malts. Bittersweet rather herbal hoppy malty pilsener. Bitter dry hoppy finish. OK. Very drinkable. (2017-02)

A lot of hop for a pilsner. And a lot of bubbles. And that's just what i like! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Chmielowy zapach. Dość goryczkowe. Bardzo ładna bursztynowa barwa. Trochę męczące pod koniec ale i tak przyjemnie się pije.

500ml can. pours a clear pale yellow with a large, frothy, long lasting, white head that laces. Aroma of bready malt, grain and grass. Sweet flavour of bready malt and lemon with a crisp, bitter, grassy hop finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Not normally a fan of pilseners but this was ok.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2017 500 ml bottle in flute. Pours bright golden with medium white head. Floral and hay smell. Hoppy aroma, but a bit boring. Quite bitter taste, also slightly metallic. Aftertaste is also quite bitter and intense. Carbonation soft, light body. Bitter finish. Jever is definitely different from the mainstream Pilseners. Not bad!

Crystal clear, straw color, tall, snow white head. Skunky nose dominates (clear bottle). Light body, moderate flavor, clean, refreshing palate with high carbonation and low heat, long and austere aftertaste. Very dry, moderate bitterness despite its reputation. Hoppy, herbal but evident malt in background. Surprisingly drinkable, particularly with food. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Wine Rack, Burpham. Sweet and sour lager aroma, but not t to much so. Pale gold. Small bubbles. Fluffy white head. Theres some sweetness to begin with before a high bitterness rears its head in to the finish. Light bodied. Soft if oily mouthfeel. After the bitterness the finish is surprisingly abrupt. Certainly an original pilsner but I cant wok out if like it. Wasnt impressed on a previous occasion but more pleasant alongside carbonara.

TASTE: medium-low malty flavor with a slight crackery honey-like note. low hop note with a grassy note. medium-high hop bitterness with a dry and bitter finish. PALATE: medium-light body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: a regular german pils a bit on the bitter (and dry side).
