Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

Mysteriously low RB rating... this is simply one of the best hoppy pilsners in the world! Dry and crisp, with a refreshing hoppiness and long aftertaste, fresh and clean with hints of mineral (due to the Friesland water used) and some grassiness. Attractive, firm white head. A perfect beer to just enjoy, slowly on its own, or with spicy food. A lot better on tap in Germany than from an exported bottle.

Bottle from Wine Rack, Burpham. Sweet and sour lager aroma, but not t to much so. Pale gold. Small bubbles. Fluffy white head. Theres some sweetness to begin with before a high bitterness rears its head in to the finish. Light bodied. Soft if oily mouthfeel. After the bitterness the finish is surprisingly abrupt. Certainly an original pilsner but I cant wok out if like it. Wasnt impressed on a previous occasion but more pleasant alongside carbonara.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 5D). Bottle 50 cl - Batch L0811F 21416 (BBF 08.17). AROMA: low hop aroma with a initial grassy note that vanishes. medium-low grainy malt aroma with a slight honey-like quality. faint oxidation. APPEARANCE: light gold color and clear. medium-low white head with medium retention. TASTE: medium-low malty flavor with a slight crackery honey-like note. low hop note with a grassy note. medium-high hop bitterness with a dry and bitter finish. PALATE: medium-light body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: a regular german pils a bit on the bitter (and dry side).

Bottle. Dark gold. Nice head. Aroma is very hoppy, earthy, skunky and grassy. Taste is hoppy, earthy, grassy and bready with a hint of lemons and spicyness. Long lasting dry and bitter finish. Good carbonation. Crisp, clean and refreshing. This is indeed an unique German Pils and Im always happy to have one.

Lovely clear golden colour with a fluffy white head. Medium carbonation. Not much going on with the aroma or taste. Some hops, slight wheaty woody taste typical of German beers, I didnt really detect any herbs, some lemon balm and grass. Went down very easy, but was unchallenging. Price Paid: 1.50 on clearance (out of date).

Cold 500 ml bottle served in a Monchshof tulip. Aroma of grass and muted cat pee. Sparkling gold with a white head that disappears to a skim. I have been wanting to try this for some time after reading a detective novel set in Hamburg where the protagonist drank it regularly. Grassy and herbal, pronounced bitterness, light bodied. Lends itself to both sipping and quaffing. Id be quite happy if it was my local brew.

zapach przyjemny, świeży, zielony, trawiasty i ziołowy z nutami słodowymi, całość dopełnia lekki aromat zielonej butelki. kolor jasnego złota, klarowny, piana biała, średnia i skąpa. w smaku pełne, słodowe, trawiaste, zielona butelka, trochę kurzu i piwnicy ale w pozytywny sposb. goryczka wyraźna, długa, ziołowa z lekkimi nutami pestkowymi ale znowu w dobry sposb. całość pozostawia bardzo lekko dziwne uczucie na języku. nasycenie średnie do wysokiego.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2016 On tap. Pours pale color with small white head. Aroma of grains, earth, grass. Flavor profile is also grainy with some grassy and metallic notes. Light body. Watery. Dry and some kind of bitter finish. Overall: nothing spectacular.
