Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2014 330ml green bottle, poured into a footed Pilsner glass. Appearance is clear pale golden with a small white head that reduced quickly. Aroma of wheat bread, hay and honey. Flavours of wheat bread, honey and a hint of lemon zest. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is light bodied, smooth texture and average carbonation. Overall a nice crisp and dry refreshing pilsner.

Clear gold on tap. Another one that seems underappreciated. Not much hop bite, but sweet and lightly floral, very crisp in flavor and body. Went great w German food.

Pours a clear straw to light golden colour with small white head and high carbonation. Aromas are bready malt and some corn with big Noble hops - floral, spicy notes. Taste is crisp, clean and refreshing with a zesty hoppy bitterness and light fruity sweetness. Balance is very much towards hop bitterness and has a lingering bitter finish. Good example of a German Pilsner.

Can. Clear golden colour with stable head off. Aroma of hops, malt. Taste of malts, bread. Bitter finish

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from local 'trinkgut', best before August 2018. Clear, golden yellow with a thin, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy aroma of grains and some straw. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy taste of grains, some straw and traces of citrus, followed by a short, medium bitter, grassy-spicy and quite dry finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Indeed more bitter than its fellow tv-pilseners, not more aromatic though. I remember how I hated this beer a decade ago, but I think it's pretty refreshing and quaffable right now, showing me how much I got used to bitterness.

Bottle 0,5. Just after opening a little "skunk" aroma but it flew away quickly. Then left grassy, pungency smell with a bit of bread. Straw color, very clear with nice, fizzy bubbles inside. Head soft, fluffy, really likable. Apperance is for sure the best part of this beer. In taste dry, for me only with the hop bitterness. Very drinkable. Hop taste and nice, lively carbonation makes this one really refreshing.

Some aroma of oxidized beer in the kind of honey, some corn and paper towels. Clear golden in the glass with a frothy head. Taste is semi dry with notes grain straw, some notes of hay, corn and herbal touch in the back. Tastes better than smells. Average, typical macro lager, but grow up better than other macro stuff from my country of Poland.

martpez (373) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2017
Dry and bitter lager. Hardly any sweetness in the malts. Making it a very distinctive and decent drink

à la maison . Une bière simple mais honnête avec un bon rapport qualité-prix. Goût assez prononcé de céréales et finale légèrement sucrée.

fellebag (1571) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 20, 2017
33cl bottle. Small white head disappearing. Clear pilsener color. Aroma is leaves, wood. Quite sweet taste
