on tap at klub malych pivovaru in pilsen. another well-crafted brew from this exciting new brewery - rich shade of amber with a firm and lasting off-white head; aroma of red berry and pancake dough; juicy malt character and a quick and dry finish that leaves you wanting more. might almost be worth a trip to the dump that is jihlava

On draught at the brewery tap / restaurant, so in optimum condition. A classic Czech ’Polotmavy’ take on Vienna Lager, if such a style ever really existed. Easily mistakable in palate for a north of England stronger bitter. Dabs of caramel, a bit of barley sugar and enough hop to keep it from cloying.

(Rating #4831)

On tap at the restaurant (03/03/13). Rather clear amber pour, thick foamy white head. Aroma is caramel forward, as with the svetle but it somehow seems more fitting here, classic fruity and vanilla polotmavé notes as well. Taste of caramel, light toasted grain, light fruitiness, delicate. Palate is fluffy, definitely not one of the driest examples, but well attenuated nonetheless. Good.

My Bottom Line:
Vanilla, caramel and butterscotch seep from this Polotmavy’s pleasant malts.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam covers the hazy dark amber.
-This one too feels like it was carbonated with a dose of nitrogen.
-This Polotmavy’s quite low on the hops.
-There isn’t much depth here, but the flavor profile is highly pleasant.
-Mouthfeel is silky and creamy.

On tap at the brewpub.

0.33 bottle from Pivkupectví/Zly Casy. Hazypale amber-chestnut colour, small off-white head. Malty base with lovely roast flavours, aromatic and bitter hops in the finish. Well balanced and quite roasty.

mmahut (1859) - CZECH REPUBLIC - FEB 13, 2014
Darker amber body, light hazy, medium white frosty head. Aroma has burn caramel notes, toffee with light butter. Pretty complex. Taste is high honey sweet, light to medium grassy bitterness. Body is medium with high caramel.

Another Czech beer that's milky sweet on the nose - interesting regional flavor profile. Same on the flavor. Though this one has some malt sweetness, and is slightly bitter on the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
