Bomber. Poured a lovely shade of pinkish orange with not much head. The aroma picked up tangy apple skins, pear, and a pinch of sweet tart.. seemed sweeter as it warmed up. The flavor found tart apple, pear, and lesser cherry skins on the front, with fairly sweet, crisp apple meat following.. finished with good balance between sweet and tangy. Light-medium bodied and engaging on the palate.. a bit skewed toward the sweet stuff, but still very tasty.
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2017 650ml bottle. Slightly hazy reddish copper with a thin ring of white foam. Flavors are apple brandy, sweet apples, apple skin, toffee and spices with dusty notes. Pint can. Pour is medium red-orange, darker than most cider and orange-er, but not unpleasantly colored. The aroma and flavor are dark and complex, with a molasses/caramel leaning, but also deeply apple.
Unfortunately, it was also cloyingly sweet, seemingly more so even than most straight apple juice, like Zima-level sweet, which dominated and distorted all the other flavors. If you are making an alcoholic beverage with as much sugar as this stuff has, you need to indicate that on the label somehow. Europeans all label their cider as "doux", "demi-sec", and "brut", I don’t understand why North American cider brewers cannot do this. For Angry Orchard or whatever I’d expect cloying; this looked more artisinal. Dark amber-red body and a thin but bubbly off-white head that quickly recedes. Juicy cider apples, caramel, some fleshy stonefruits, and more orachard-fresh pressed cider. Attack: incoming dense apple sweetness, thicker mouthfeel, tangy-zingy
Mid-palate: woody apple juice, mild apple cider vinegar tang mixed with hidden alcohol, (lvl-6-sweetness)
Finish: slightly cloying sugars, juicy apple exhale
Summary: Quite an approachable sweet cider with bit woody apple flavour and a bit of tang and sourness to round it out. The sugars become a bit cloying after several sips so this goes best with a savoury meal.
Clear dark amber color. Apple and cinnamon aroma. Sweet. If you don’t like sweet beverages, then you will hate this. Needs more carbonation. Otherwise, very good. Cloudy amber color, small head. Mild apple aroma, sweet, hints of vanilla. Moderate residual sweetness, very pleasant; apple pie flavor (stewed apples without the spices), light acidity level, and very mild astringency in the final.<vr>Very good.
22 oz. bottle, pours a murky dark orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out medium sweet apples, some treacle and caramel, and brown sugar. Flavour is complex, with lots of treacle, caramel, and medium sweet apples. The treacly quality is unusual for the style and very pleasantly welcomed. Lots of depth and well-balanced. Excellent. Bottle - Fresh red and green apple. Deep cloudy Amber with a small white head. Light cooked Apple, pleasant sweetness and a long finish. Not acidic or sweet, just flavourful.
