Tap at JL Beers in NE Mpls. Very dark dense looking pour with a soapy tan head. Roasty. Fresh hop aroma. Smooth and rich palate. Taste is cocoa, roasty malt, bright hop that’s mild - overall an excellent beer. cards04 (2793) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JUL 9, 2014
A nice black IPA. Strong hoppy qualities ion both the aromas and flavors. Leaves nice lacing. Solid stuff ljthiessen (1348) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - JUN 24, 2014
Very dark brown pour with a small tan head. Pretty mellow for a black IPA, but still tasty. Smooth and lightly bitter, some nice roasty dark malt, subtle hops for the style. Dry finish. jake65 (3695) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - SEP 20, 2013
Tap, JL Beers Bismarck. Beautiful appearance. Dark brown with a thick creamy brown head. Great retention and lacing. Roasty and citrus nose goes right onto a rich taste. Piney too. Sweet and toasty, citrus... spot on for my taste buds. Drinkable all day long. This was a big time score. Travlr (24759) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 16, 2012
Draft. Black, beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate and subtle pine. Taste is sweet cocoa, coffee, pine.
