The appearance was a dark red almost brown color with a finger and a half’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Sliding light lace.
The aroma had some honey and sweet caramel malt with some dark fruits and some earthy hop bitterness.
The flavor leaned towards the malt sweetness with the dark fruits and honey coming back to blend and bring the sweetness just a tad tighter. Aftertaste was malty sweet with a quick semi-sweet finish.
The palate was medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine and the ABV felt good.
Overall, pretty good brown ale that I could come back to. BeerandBlues2 (13697) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 27, 2013
