On tap at the brewpub. Trübes orange braunes Bier mit einer geringen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch karamellig, angenehm floral hopfig. Geschmack dezent röstmalzig, Karamell, angenehm hopfig bitter, floral, ok!

gildnerk (201) - Düsseldorf, GERMANY - MAY 3, 2015
Helles Rotbraun mit dünner Schaumkrone. Etwas weniger aromatisch, meistens Malzaromen. Geschmack ist spritzig-malzig-süß mit einigen Hopfnoten am Abgang -- kein klassisches Alt per se, aber trotzdem sehr süffig.

Draught at the brewpub
Muddy amber color with small beige creamy head. The aroma is mellow, malty, a bit biscuity, but also dusty. Some flavor of malt and caramel, with light dustiness, and relatively high bitterness; balanced final, where a moderate residual sweetness appears.
Pleasant but simple.

Würzig-malziger Antrunk, röstig & sehr malzig würzig. Karamell, Molasse, trocken und sehr süffig. Toll. Der Nachgeschmack ist lang und intensiv. malzig-trocken, ganz leichte süße, fruchtig. Trocken und angenehm deutlich Herb im Nachgeschmack. Lecker! --> 13/12/13/13

ThirstyBird (3012) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 18, 2014
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2015 Pours a very dark brown with a tan head. The smell is Rick roasted malt, licorice, dark fruit. The taste is roasty, fruity deep and rich, licorice ending tat and dry. The body is light+ with mild carbonation. Really not a traditional altbier but packing a lot more richness and flavor. Unique. 7,4,7,3,14,

Re-rated 7-30-15, There is a new brewer at the pub and this is his Altbier. Pours a reddish/brown with a hint of haze with a tan head. The smell is fruit, roasted malt, yeast. The taste is a nice balance between fruit, toasted malt and a crisp dry finish coming in nicely. A very drinkable beer with enough going on to be something to think about while remaining a beer that you want to drink several of. The body is Light+ with fine carbonation. Nice stuff. 7,4,8,4,16

Der malzige Antrunk wird durch runde dezent scharfe Note ergänzt. Wenig röstig, im Mittelteil stärker malzig werdend. Rund, zum Ende minimal bitter auch hier fällt die leichte Schärfe auf. 12/12/11/11//11
