I had this beer on tap at the Framingham John Harvard’s. It launched me on a summer quest to find a bottled dunkelweizen as good as it. I haven’t been successful, so I am currently brewing my own. This beer had a fantastic malty flavor and went down very smooth. It was a cloudy deep chocolate color with a thin head. I highly recommend it. July 2005 - Poured dark with no head at all. Smell and taste was outrightly offensive...smelled like and tasted like sweet but sickly cough medicine. I had to force myself to finish it. Awful. FROTHINGSLOSH (8362) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 3, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 27, 2007 Sampled on draft at the Monroeville PA location this beer poured a murky dark brown color with a small dark tan head. The aroma was sweet, tangy and had a strong banana element. The mouthfeel was moderately thick. The flavor was bitter and sour banana and a bit dry. GriffinAvenue (396) - Winchester, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 30, 2006
Draft. Hazy, apple-cider coloring with light brownish/white head. Inviting yeasty aroma with hints of blueberry or berry-citrus flavoring to come. Scent is strong and distinctive not matched by the surprisingly weak flavoring and body . . . light a diet tea. hopdog (13315) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 7, 2006

Appeared a bit light in color for a dunkel. Strong aroma of banana & clove. Fruity on initial taste. Nice mouth feel. An easily drinkable Dunkel Weiss. DocLock (11214) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 2, 2005

On tap at Framingham, MA. Brown color, great aroma of yeast and some banana, similar flavors and wheat, good use a bit more malt and body. Not bad though, probably my favorite beer from this brewery.
