Sampled on draft at the Monroeville PA location this beer poured a bright orange-caramel color with a medium sized orange-white head. The aroma is sweet, spicy and a bit grainy. The flavor is dry and crisp with a hint of citrus and spice with a long bitter grainy finish. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts for this one as I found is quite pleasantly quaffable. As ’Cross-Eyed Rye’ on draught in Monroeville. Very subtle rye aroma. Mild floral hop bitterness. Bit of a sour tang, too. Semi-hazy dark amber to medium brown color, with thin off-white head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts dry with a nutty bitterness. Mild graininess and hints of rye pieces. Mild carbonic acidity and finished with soft bitterness. After gets a little chalky and more bitter. Decent session beer. DYCSoccer17 (3697) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 14, 2004
Draft at Manchester location. Sweet candy-like gumball aroma with sugars. Floral perfumes. Transparent copper color with a small white head. Milky caramel roasted malts, and rich. Mildly sweet in the middle. Small hop kick to finish. Nice.
