UPDATED: JUL 29, 2005 (DC)(tried 7/29/05, under the name Summer of Sam Hefeweizen, 10.7 OG) Clear straw body with small, non-retaining white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, bubblegum, banana, some lemon. Taste is medium sweet, banana, lemon, clove, some bubblegum. Light-medium body, some crispness, light acidity. (6/2/6/3/12)

(DC)(tried 821/03)(this batch made with lemongrass) Murky light brown with small head. Aroma is banana/clove, some wheat. Taste is lemon, light banana, finishing sour/tart with a slight herbal bite. Light/medium watery body. Paired well with the ale and mustard chicken sandwich I ate. (7/3/6/3/12)

A big floral nose. No head a cloudly yellow bronze with a bit of lemon in the flavor, but also something unidentifiable, something not good. It tasted skunked but it wasn't. I wouldn't order it again.

Tap at Cambridge location. Cloudy yellow, minimal head. A well-balanced banana clove offering. Very good mouthfeel; silky-smooth.

On tap in Cambridge, MA. One of my least-favorite styles of beer, but i didn't mind this one so much. It wasn't overpowering at all, kinda mellow, actually. mine didn't come with a lemon wedge (yay!).

Draft in Manchester, CT. Cloudy peach. Creamy white head. Medium light body. Smooth and crisp. Apples and bananas and light citrus, sans lemon slice. Mild fruit notes. Sharper and cleaner than expected but a good example.

On Tap 7/6/02 Cambridge, MA: As I saw it listed on the chalkboard, I thought that it would be a typical American wheat. Lucky this was much more German in style. Weak, but nice banana/clove aroma, hazy yellow color, bold flavor, ends a little acidic. It comes with a lemon by default, so let them know that you donít swing that way.
