On tap in Cambridge, MA. I have to say that when i started on Ratebeer i didn't care for stouts at all...and now i'm finding that i'm liking them a lot. This one was nice and dark with a thick head on it. Creamy, coffee-ee taste (yum!). pretty darn good. muzzlehatch (4969) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 30, 2003
AKA "Cream Stout" at the JH in Lake Grove, NY (I think, or maybe this is the Gaelic Stout, or GODDAMN CHAIN BREWPUBS WITH DIFFERENT NAMES AT EVERY LOCATION AND NO EMPLOYEES WHO KNOW A GODDAMN THING ALL THEY CAN DO IS LOOK AND ACT SUPERIOR BECAUSE THEY'RE JUST THERE FOR BEER MONEY AND THEY DRIVE FUCKING BEEMERS ON TIP MONEY FROM THE YUPPIE BASTARDS WHO PATRONIZE THE PLACE AND KNOW NOTHING WHATSOEVER ABOUT BEER). yeah. Glad that's off my chest. Not as "chocolaty" or "creamy" as the porter that preceded it, but more balanced, velvety, sweet but subdued, nice body, long medium-dry finish. Definitely the best thing I've had yet from this Rock-Bottom level (pun intended) chain. obxdude10 (2358) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 3, 2003
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2003 Re-rate: black in color, very very smooth, soft lacy off-white head, nicely balanced, had some cream undertones, absoutely awesome on the handpump

Great when chilled and right from the tap: sweet like a European coffee served with milk. Doesn't do well sitting in the glass; loses a good taste when it gets warmer.
