On tap at John Harvard’s in Framingham, MA. A nice deep brown color with a surprisingly light flavor. Different. OK overall. SwedeDog (364) - Windsor, Connecticut, USA - DEC 23, 2006
Tap at the Manchester, CT location. Labelled Dastardly Dark Lager. I assume this is similar enough. I really don’t want to enter another John Harvard’s beer. Dark mahogany with a small but fluffy head. Nice aroma of dark chocolate and nuts. Nice balance going on in the mouth. Dark chocolate, roasted malts, a small amount of hops and a small earthiness all play well. Very nice beer. DrGonzo (625) - Somerville, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 17, 2004
On tap at the Framingham stripmall location. Pours a dark brown color with red tints. There’s some roasted nuts in the aroma, but nothing special. More of the same in the flavor, medium body, clean, hints of fruit, bit of a cardboard aftertaste, but I found the slightly roasted malt taste to be refreshing and tasty (what a poor description). So in conclusion, a decent beer. Goes well with one of there burgers, but holds up fine on its own.
