On tap at the brewpub. Arrived at the table a mostly clear dark amber with a very thin tan head that was gone after the first two sips and left scant lace. Very light aroma of sweet malt. The flavor is malt with a touch of sweetness along with some nuttiness. Very nice smooth, well-rounded finish. Medium bodied. Solid beer. notalush (5910) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - FEB 12, 2009
Cask at the brewpub - fairly dry for a brown, which is a plus for me - the nutty sweetness is there, but is subordinate to tobacco leafiness, dry cocoa, roasty character - very smooth - a little caramel on the end - a good session ale from these guys. fredandboboflo (1570) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2008
Tap. Aroma of nuttiness, sweet roasted malt. Flavor really expands with more notes of leafy hops, lots of chocolate, gritty, roasted nuttiness. Roasty and silky at once. Great brown. LilBeerDoctor (4147) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2008
On tap at JH. Pours a dark amber with a thick light brown head. Aroma of sweet malt and light roast. Flavor of light malt sweetness with a roasty/smoky finish. Very smooth and tasty. Excellent beer from JH!
