One of Bam's brown eyes is, in fact, black. When mischief reigns supreme, it positively glows. Dedicated to the dark side; smooth, dark, incredibly delicious as only a Jack Russell with bat wings can be.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2008 Bottled at Papsoes Blind tasting 19th. June 2008 no 4: Dark amber coloured. Unclear. Dense light brown head. Sourish aroma. Some caramel and light fruit is there as well. Flaovur sourish as well. Citrus and woods is other impressions I get. Is a bit watery and dry. Is watery and sourish in the end with light fruitnotes.

750mL bottle. Poured deep iced tea brown with a creamy, sticky cap of off-white head.. just beautiful! The aroma was also delightful with chocolate and caramel notes over spicy lemon and funky notes.. quite engaging. The flavor had an odd blend of darker malts (the aforementioned chocolate and caramel) paired with sour, funky notes, light wheat, and toasted barley.. didn’t come across nearly as well as the nose.. sour finish with the same dark malts. The carbonation was too aggressive on the palate.. sourness worked OK in here, but it clashed a bit with the grain bill.. drier finish. This was just OK overall for me.

An old rating i finally got to entering. Flavor was really tart and yeasty. Aroma was a little funky. Not as dry as bam biere which was much better i thought.

AmEricanbrew (6954) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - JUN 24, 2008
Bottle batch 258/259. Garnet color with a tight white head. Cheesy barnyard and sourdough yeasty aroma. Light/medium body. Has a citrusy, tart lemon flavor at first, then dusty roasted malts. Very dry flavors. Brett yeast doesn’t work with every beer style.

Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 23, 2008
(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of SoLan/tertons. Pours a clear orangey brown with a tall and lively off-white head leaving some lacework. Refreshingly light Brett aroma. Light in body with dry woody accents, a vague fruitiness and a dry and lightly astringent finish. Quite refreshing. 190608

Botte #4 at Papsoes blindtasting. Cloudy orange red coloured with a huge off white head. Light acidic aroma of rubber and berries with notes of wood. Light acidic flavour of berries with notes of hops. Tart and hoppy finish.

Miver (615) - Silver Spring, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 23, 2008
12 oz bottle. Poured deep mahogany brown in color with a large tan frothy head. Aroma of saison yeast, citrus, raisons and a little tart. Taste is slightly sour with brett, but has notes of the citrus and dark fruits. It’s overall a little dusty, musty, and nice. Solid saison characteristics, but a nice twist on the style.

yespr (47545) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUN 22, 2008
Bottle. Papsoes MadsBerg homecoming blindtasting, bottle #4. Pours hazy golden orange to brown with a lacing slight tan head. Mild woody and slight spiced aroma, mild berry fruity. Flavour is woody, light acidic and spiced. Roasted to smoked flavour. Holds what seems to be a light brett note yet quite dry and not citric. Ends mild spiced and woody.

Ofortuna (322) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 21, 2008
Nice head and lacing on this one. Very nice deep ruby colour. Black currents and an acetic tone on the aroma. Enticing. As with many of Jolly Pumpkin’s beer’s, too much carbonation in my opinion. It froths up in the mouth and takes away from the overall experience. Even giving the all-encompassing style of Saisons, this is more sour than Saison.

Grovlam (4253) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 20, 2008
Bottle. [After party @ Papsoe, thanks buddy] hazy dark mahogany color. Lovely mix of sour, malty and fruity sweetness hits the nose. Floral sourness and mild citrus. Over the palate came strong sour notes of citrus, Bratt, some underlying toasted malt and light fruity feel. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated to heavy sour and sweet flavor in balance. Lingering fresh sour like fruity and somewhat spicy finish. I like this one. 7 / 3 / 8 / 4 / 16
