My bottle (750ml) shared at ’Biegaman’s Second Annual Saison Tasting’. Pours a murky amber-copper with some sediment and an average size diminishing creamy off-white head. Good lacing. Awesome aroma of funky yeast, plenty of hops, toastiness, spices, coffee and dark fruit -- fresh and refreshing. Flavour, also refreshing, is funky and sour along with fruit, toasted malt, hops and spices -- so easy to drink. Dry finish. Average to medium bodied. Fantastic stuff! (bottle, thanks Tytoanderso!) Pours brown with an off-white head. This beer has a really great smell, and is ver gueuze-like, with sharp tart and funky notes. The taste is pretty much non-existent, with only a light tartness and lingering yeast showing up in the finish. This was an anomalous beer, the aroma was great, but the flavor is not even there. A dark brown appearance with a beige head. The aroma contains some chocolate, caramel, cherries, raisins, and a little bit of vinegar. The flavor is rather tart with some cherries, granny smith apples but also malty at the same time with some molasses and chocolate. Interesting concept for a beer. Overall I really enjoyed this. heemer77 (5355) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUN 1, 2008
Thanks for the bottle, iowaherkeye. Dark brown and red body with a light khaki head. The aroma is tart with some wood and apples. There is also some caramel. The taste is fairly sweet with some apples and floral notes. There is also some berry character. Surprsingly sweet at first, as you drink more, the tartness comes through. A decent brew, but a little boring. pintsize (1042) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUN 1, 2008

Orange amber color with a good head. Dusty sour oranges smell. Super mild and subtle flavor. Mouthfeel is nice but not amazing. Overall, drinkable, but not too memorable.
Bottle. Mediium sized very fizzy ivory head that mostly diminished, one ring of lacing, transparent, carbonation noted, and an orange brown hue. The aroma was dark fruits, brett, malt, slightly musty, spicy, and a whiff of coffee. The taste was very sour, tart, dark fruits, malt, spicy, funky, and finished dry. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodied. This beer was just too sour and funky tasting to suit my tastebuds. If one enjoys beers that are very sour and tart tasting, this should then be enjoyed by such a person. HogTownHarry (6622) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - MAY 27, 2008
Bottle (750ml). At 2nd Annual Summer Saison Tasting - blankboy’s bottle. Deep murky amber with a solid frothy beige head - just a massive flock of floaties in it (down from 4/5 due to execess floaties). Sweet toasty caramel aroma, but floral, spicy and herbal - really appealing. The taste seems a little less balanced - less malt body, more bitter spice, and an odd celery note that nobody else got in their sample - thick bodied, complex for sure, and dry in the finish - had an odd aroma/taste differential. Bottle. Pours a brown orange hazy body and a moderate head. Aroma and flavor is funky sweet malt, some cherries, wood, and that traditional jp sour funk. sebletitje (10048) - Enghien, BELGIUM - MAY 23, 2008
Totally love this oaky taste, so similar to the Rodenbach Grand Cru. It takes some getting used to it, a beer that you learn to love and appreciate.
Batch 262/263, color dark amber, roasty and smoky.
Always amazed by their quality. 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 20, 2008
Batch 258,259. The beer pours to a dark rustic amber body with a light creamy off-beige head. The aroma is sour and funky and smells almost exactly like the regular Bam Biere. Not as punchy, however. The sour funky saison components hit up front with a dry stout backend. The beer finishes with a strong dry roasted malt. Dry palate. This one’s a let down that really didn’t work.
