Brought by Todd for my birthday tasting. Thanks a bunch for this Todd! Cloudy golden orange in color with a fingers worth of tight white head. Nose is ridiculously complex. It is bursting with juicy citrus fruit and some subtle grassy, citrusy hops. It reminds me kinda like Hill Farmstead Mimosa, but I think this is slightly better. Flavor is bright and tart, white wine character, citrus, and classic Jolly Pumpkin yeast. Light mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, light acidity, and a long finish. Might be over thinking this a bit, but this beer is one of the best American sours I’ve had to date. It’s so bright and juicy and just alive with flavor. Thanks a bunch for introducing this to me Todd, this was a memorable experience.

From old notes I found. 750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark orange color and topped by a thin layer of off white foam that slowly recedes and leaves sticky lines of lace around the glass. The aroma is really nice showing notes of lemon rind, bretty funk, dry oak, and a real citrusy sourness. The base is of clean cereal grains and dry, grassy hop bitterness. The flavor follows and is just as enticing as the aroma showing notes of funky oak, lemon tartness, dry wild yeast, and more citrus sourness. I can’t really put my finger on any pumpkin per se, but there is a nice mineral character there that may be the by product. A - Very hazy, burnt orange nice fluffy head. thankfully this JP beer wasn’t a gusher.
S - The smell is really good! Nose is very Arthur or Anna like. tart, acidity is low with a lot of orange, clove and other spices.
T - The taste is nice. It’s a lot of sweetness. I honestly don’t get much pumpkin in the tasting notes. Finish is a minor astringency but it’s very weak.
M - Dry, tart, filling
O - I’m enjoying this beer a lot. Spice could go down a bit but it must be that classic JP yeast spice I’m getting. Tasting great after 4 years in the bottle.

A - Pours hazy orange with a nice light cap of white head leaving light lacing down the glass.
S - Just like any other jolly pumpkin beer. Nice tart funk mixes well with the pumpkin, light spice, some oak, and a bit of citric fruit, most notably lemon and some peach. Nice balance but nothing too over the top.
T - So they finally made a beer with pumpkin in it. Plenty of tart funk up front mixes well with the pumpkin and other flavors, similar to the nose. Not your typical saison, obviously!, but still very enjoyable. Not overpowering at all, quite refreshing in fact. I really enjoyed this one.
M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Very nice light, refreshing, feel on the pallet. Finish is funky but it doesn’t linger for very long.
D - Very good stuff. I might have to try and get a bottle of this for myself. I really liked how well the pumpkin worked with the typical jolly pumpkin funk.
750 ml. bottle. Thanks Aaron. Pours a hazy pale gold with a decent white head. Aroma of citrus, funk, and spice. Taste is lemon, funk, wine, oak, and grass. Somewhat dry and tart. Nice.

Pours murky deep yellow amber with a grayish white head. Aroma brings some soft mint and floral notes, suggestions of lavender. Batch 522, bottled 7/22/2010. 750ml bottle pours a very hazy straw gold with some creamy, white head. Nose is lemony, herbal, mild oak, grass, straw, musty but also floral. Flavor is mildly tart, earthy, mildly sweet, a little almond, grass, lime, parsley, a little celery seed. Herbal although clean finish. Really cool. From 750 ml bottle. Pours copper gold with moderate head and lace. Aroma of Chardonnay, sweet fruits, slight mint. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Bottle thanks to bu11zeye ! Pours a hazy yellow golden color with two fingers of thick white foamy fizz. This beer rides the line of weird and strange and delicious. Lots going on from vegetal barnyard soaked musky oak to bright lemon, stonefruit and tart funk. Really interesting balance...hard to wrap your head around. Bottle (750 ml). Bottled on 7-22-2010. Shared by Pier-Luc, thanks! Slightly hazy golden/orange, small fully lasting white head and good lacing. Aroma is of Jolly Pumpkin usual funk (but lesser than most of their beers), nice spices mix, pumpkin, oak, winey notes and lemon/citrus. Taste is slightly sweet with light funk, nice acidic presence, spices, lemon/citrus, oak, light herbal notes and pumpkin. Light to medium body. Light carbonation. Slightly dry finish. Nice balance. Really fresh despite being 3 years. Not too acetic. Mild, but really complex. I really enjoyed that one.
