Was looking forward to this and was quite dissapointed. More prune then fresh plum flavor with heavy funk and a muddled roastyness and nuttyness that I dont really want. Comes off like an infected belgian quad. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 24, 2013
Bottle from Jeff, I think. Thanks! Pours a deep amber with an offwhite head. Nose is pleasingly tart but the fruit is pretty absent. A hint of prune but mostly just standard Jolly Pumpkin. I think the brewery is basically putting out different colors of the same beers now. On tasting, crisp and clean overall, moderate tartness. reggiedunlop (3725) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Pours an opaque amber with a medium off white head. Aroma has very nice sour notes...plum and oak are notable. Flavor is somewhat mild and lacks the aggressive sour that the aroma suggests...some light plum and oak but only a mild tartness with hints of dusty cellar and vanilla. Mouthfeel is light and a bit watery with a dry vinous plum/oak finish. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Decent, very plummy, tastes like a tarted quad. Very bretty, decent and aight bhensonb (15489) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 8, 2013
Bottle shared by Irishboy. Pours dark orange brown with a slight head. Aroma is fruity, but in an unusual way. Med minus body. Flavor is very mildly sour, very mildly fruity. Sort of bland compared to most JPs. Gets a bit plummy with time.

750 ml bottle from a trade? Nose is very light tartness, caramel, and a hint of plums. Lightly hazy dark gold with a small offwhite head. Flavor is lightly tart, a bit of lemon, and a little caramel. phaleslu (10454) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 1, 2013
Bottle shared by someone, can’t remember who, at DLD 2013. Pours a hazy, dull orange-amber with a big beige head. Oak, grapes, florals, honey, leather, and tart, sweet plums. Light-medium bodied, with a tart, earthy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Dry finish. Good sour. drowland (8888) - Georgia, USA - APR 13, 2013
During RBWG 2013. Bottle shared by hopscotch, apparently! Amber pour with a small fizzy off-white head. Tart, sweet, and fruity aroma with funky wild yeasts, a bit of sour, dark fruits, and bready malts. Lightly tart and funky flavor, not overtly sour, with plenty of yeast aspects, dark fruits, and malt. Not too shabby! Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - MAR 23, 2013
Bottel thanks to mikem409 ! Pours a slightly ruby light copper color with a finger of fizzy foam. The nose is typical jolly pumpkin funk. Tart, barnyard fruit, touch of barrel character. The palate is focused and flavorful. Not much for plum notes just a residual sweetness underlying the malt with a nice acidic punch of tartness. Good lingering funk in the finish with some dark raisin prune notes.... 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAR 21, 2013
Bottle from batch 976, bottled on 03-26-2012: Deep dirty amber, thin sudsy off-white head, little lacing. Looks like may sours, or lambics. Very soft oak on the nose. A slight touch of fruit sweetness, but its hard to discern exactly what it is. Soft on the tongue, mild tartness, a little sweet, some oak, a little dry, with very little fruit presense. Now that its been a year, could the plums really have fallen off? Perhaps. What is left is a very straight forward solid example of a Sour Ale. Clean, simple, nothing off, but also nothing out of the ordinary. Good, but perhaps should have opened sooner?
