Bam is an extra special dog. After surviving being struck by a car, he daily somehow manages to avoid being carried away by the largish birds of prey gliding overhead, riding unseen thermals. Bam’s tenacity seems only to be surpassed by his oversized personality. Join us in this celebration of his excess. More malt, more hops, same vivacious personality.

Dark golden color. Creamy off white head. Sour initially in nose with some earthy hops. Slightly tart flavor with old cheesy wet hops. Very carbonated prickly on toungue..overall God drinking brew. Not too comple but good.

Tap @ Jolly Pumpkin: Molten copper color; translucent but not clear. Crisp, beige-tinted head rests on top, clunky & comprised of large bubbles. Huge Jolly Pumpkin terroir aroma; tons of that musty barnyard, wet hay, Bretty, & cheesecloth ridden funk. Lots of oak, too. The difference here is the backdrop of pear, lemon, & a strong presence of leafy-herbal hops rounding out the periphery. Slight tartness up front in the flavor; fruity & zesty, but still more mild than the rest of the regular JP line-up (Roja, Oro, Bam Biere, Calabaza). The immediate tartness gets replaced quickly, though, by a HUGE tidal wave of funk. Sweaty horse, old cheese rind, musty Brett, moldy bales of hay, hints of rotten pineapple, musk, cork, & huge driftwood. I love funk... But the balance may just be slightly off here. Slight touch of toasted malts, seems substantially darker than Bam Biere. Almost a little too dry & funky & oaky. Bone-dry finish as usual. Crisp on the palate. As a whole, it’s not bad at all, but it pales in comparison to many other JP offerings that are available throughout the year (read: not seasonal). Still worth a visit, though.

"Kind of a nice hybrid of a saison, a hoppy bitter brew, and a trademark jolly pumpkin wild/sour ale. I liked the interplay between these aspects and this turned out to be a nice complex but refreshing summer brew."

Bottled 3-14-2012. Opens up a gusher, light amber pour with a large rocky white head that sticks around forever. Aroma is tropical fruits, citrus, yeast funk, hay, slight hints of herbs and still a fait amount of a hoppy bottom note. Definitely a signature Jolly Pumpkin aroma. Citrus and peppercorn of driving the flavor to yeast funk and a more herbaceous character. Lively carbonation with a slightly bitter finish. Solid.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with a small frothy off white head that lasts leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is strong earth, funk, wheat, barnyard. Medium mouthfeel with a nice light tart wheat, earthy hop, and nice sour finish. Enjoyed this one.

daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 18, 2014
Murky orangish pour. Light head. Funky and lightly sour also had some odd bitterness. Kinda weird.

TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 5, 2014
Pours a hazy/cloudy amber color with off-white head. Citrus, pine, and grassy on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes a bit lighter than I expected, light bodied almost.

750 ml - pours a dark rusty orange . Big Brett and barnyard tart aromas. Taste leaves a bit to be desired ... Thin , faint hop bitterness , almost no sourness . Drinkable but a bit of a let down from JP . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

ottle, shared with a group. Cloudy light amber brown with a very lively head. Yeaty, lightly funky, lightly fruity roma. Lively mouthfeel, spicy and funky elements dominate the palate, yeasty more than malty, dry almost tart finish. Not what I was expecting,
